Makar is great offensively, world class, but he’s still learning the defensive side. Slowly. Very slowly. He’s barely NHL Level on that side and he may never get it. He’s not a complete player. I’d still take Fox. And a good handful of other D Men over him.
The only thing Makar really has over Fox is his skating. He's a slightly better point producer but he's also more injury prone and the difference in production isn't super drastic. If you put Fox with the Av's forward group he'd easily make up that gap
