Remember when Messier not only lead his men to the Cup, but he then lead those very same men, with the Cup, to a strip club in Times Square, where they partied with champagne and coke.

And they only left because they had to go attend the victory parade along the Canyon of Heroes!

The Friday night when the Rangers beat the Devils in Game 7 to get to the Finals, Mark Messier, Leetch, Matteau & Paul Messier were out at the Auction House til very early morning. I left at 330am & the bar was still packed. Had I no plans for that holiday weekend, I would've been out with them til whenever. Luckily I saved that for Game 7 of the Finals when I stumbled in at 645am after leaving the MSG after party. I think the players drank til about noon. I was still living at home, & my mother was a very patient woman during that postseason.

Seriously tho if this is true I would not be the happiest person if my team was down 3-0 and several players were out partying until 3am.

NHL needs to crack down on it. Half the teams have been forced to play their backups due to injury.

How many times would the NY media and fanbase have fired Jon Cooper if he was the Rangers head coach?

TB lost in the Cup finals to Chicago in 2015.
TB lost in the ECF to Pittsburgh in 2016 after being up 3-2.
TB missed the playoffs in 2017.
TB lost in the ECF to Washington after trailing 2-0. TB wins three straight games. Lost 6 &7. Got shutout in both games.
TB lost in the first round in 2019 to Columbus. Swept. Kucherov got his ass suspended.

Cooper was definitely getting fired after 2017. You know Brooks was writing the column how Cooper has lost the team and the group has stopped listening to him. The team is going backwards. The team needs new leadership. Management needs to make major changes to the core.

He was definitely getting fired after 2018 after blowing another lead.

2019? Cooper was definitely gone after that debacle.

This board would have fired Cooper every year after 2017. Some people would have fired him after 2016. Cooper can't win the big game. The Rangers need to get a Cup winner who knows how to win.

Patience sometimes is necessary.

There has never been a McDavid and it will be rare to see one again. His agility and stickhandling at top speed is truly a joy to watch. He has insane work ethic and continues to improve. Hasn't even peaked yet.

I hope he advances because he truly is the best thing for the game. He needs to be shown to the world

I honestly had convinced myself he was overrated because Edmonton has struggled so badly but… I lied. To myself. I didn’t think he could do what he’s doing right now in the playoffs. I thought that being fed tons of ice time and PP time on a team that might as well be named the McDavid’s and racking up points while largely neglecting defense in the regular season but failing to get it done in the playoffs was the name of his game. He’s proving that he can elevate his game and get it done no matter how much the games mean and I’ll take my crow with ketchup this time.

Can Rick Tochett take Bissonette with him to Dallas? It appears the Stars want to hire Tocchet as their next head coach. I was listening to Kypreos and Bourne last week. Kyper said Dallas wants Tocchet. Elliotte Friedman said the Stars wanted to replace Bowness during the season and hire Tocchet to replace him but the Stars couldn't agree to terms with Tocchet on a contract.
