Let the Devils get the top Metro spot and face hopefully the Sabres.

Tampa scares me a lot less without McDonagh and Palat. The Devils are scarier with Palat.

Tampa got absolutely fleeced on that trade, well done Nashville!

Also, the Meier trade--can they squeeze a few more players/picks into that trade? It's been a while since I've seen so many players/assets moved in a single trade between two teams.

Grier is taking the Gorton route on the rebuild. Quantity > quality, allthough he got some niece pieces coming back.

Holy shit Tampa. They traded all of that for what is essentially the Vesey of the West

of course it will end up working out for them and he’ll outscore Kane the rest of the way
I could probably outscore Kane the rest of the way. The universe's laws will not be denied.

Rarely that you would feel completely dumbfounded by a trade. For me two stick out. Both involved the same team. The Lightning.

The McDonagh trade from NYR to Tampa was a shithow for NY. Tampa won that trade big time.
The Jeannot trade to Tampa is another shitshow. This time the Preds won it bigtime. That is an insane price to pay for a 3rd 4th liner. Just goes to show you what NHL GM's feel about adding physical players to their rosters.

Jeannot was the player I wanted the Rangers to get the most. Even more then Kane. But there is a high price limit that just prices the player out of the market and you as a GM have to pass. Realistically, 2nd in this years draft plus a prospect. And not an A prospect. Jones plus a 2nd at best. Kravtsov plus a 2nd at best.

I proposed scenarios on the Preds board and they were into Jones, plus a 2nd or a 3rd. Fans were good with that. Here, everyone overvalues their own prospects but when another board says. Yeah....that's usually fair value or even slightly lopsided.

2 years back I did the same with Middleton on the Sharks board. 5th rounder plus a B prospect or a 4th liner roster player was mentioned.

Vesey of the west? Lol Jeannot can't hold Vesey's jock strap.

Just took a look at that Devils deal for Meier.

A lot to unpack. First thought is WTF, why all the players?

5 players and a pick going to the Devils and 4 players and 3 picks to SJ. Weird.

I don't like this trade at all for Grier. Couldve been a lot simpler. Just looking at the deal it screams over-thinking.

Centerpiece of the deal is 2023 First and the Conditional 24 2nd/1st first for Meier. The one thing I dont get on the second condition is if the Devils reach the conf finals next season - it turns into a 1st. Does Meier have to be with the club?

Whatever the case, f*** the Devils

My hangover today is truly remarkable. Like it is borderline incredible how hungover I am. We're bordering on the stuff of legends and yet I still probably feel infinitely better than Julian Briesbois does this morning.

I think Briesbois was out drinking with you for him to make that move last night. Lol

He doesn't have to be with the club for that condition.

The players back/forth are because of SJ contracts, they couldn't take on anything because they were at 49/50 contracts. So the Devils gave them volume, so SJ had to offload a lot of ECHL/minor guys.

Pressure is all on them. Tampa pretty much just sold off their future, but they won two cups recently.

Dubas will be looking for a new job anyway so why not empty the clip.

This arms race is really good for the league though

Wings @ Sens

Big game for the WC chase. Red Wings are 3Pts out of the #2WC. They have a Game in hand on the Pens, and 5 Games in hand on the Isles. With that said only 4 points separates them from the Senators, who also have games to make up from the teams ahead in playoff positions. Wings have won 7 out of their last 9 games. Larkin is playing well. 7G and 7A in his last 10 games. Sens won 8 out of their last 12 games. Their top line of Stutzle Tkachuk and Giroux have combined for 17G, 19A in their last 10 games.

Nucks @ Stars

Stars still in first in the Central but the pack has closed in. Wild trail them by only 2 points. They had a tough Feb winning only 3 out of their last 8 games. Stars new addition of Evgeni Dadonov will be playing on the 3rd line with Seguin and Marchment. Kravtsov has joined the team and will be skating with their other new addition Aatu Raty and Vasily Podkolzin. That’s an exciting line from a prospect standpoint. Canucks are also giving Kravtsov a look on PP2.

Hawks @ Ducks

Battle for NHL inferiority! If you combine both clubs W’s this season they would still have less wins then the Bruins!

B’s @ Oilers

For the B’s it’s a don’t get injured game. For the Oilers they can catch the Kings with W for 2nd in the Pacific. Yammamoto has been bumped up to Line 1 for the Oil. Looking for Klim Kostin to return tonight and ride shotgun for the Drasaitl line.

Knights @ Avs

Resurging Avs are in 3rd in the Central but with a W they can leapfrog the Wil and Pull within 1 pt of the first place Stars. The Knights are 2pts ahead of the Kings in the Pacific. Real close race up top but the WC race in the West is shaping up.
