The Lightning are now convincing themselves they won on toughness and not Brayden Point scoring 0.5 goals per playoff game.

Love to see it because the East is tough enough as it is.

Jeannot makes Tampa really hard to play against, they got a ton of grit and skill, but that's a big overpayment, however everyone said the same about Coleman and Goodrow and it worked out for them so who knows.

I mean you really can't but if we're measuring what they returned vs what they were then yeah its not even close.

Granted the situations aren't exactly similar (2 years of full control vs 1 and no 10M QO) but you're talking about one of the best RW in the league vs a guy who at best is a decent middle six player.
I have no doubt Jeannot will be good just like Paul has been when he came from Ottawa. Brisebois obviously doesn't give a shit about picks at this point. Still tho just an unreal amount to give up.

The more I see the returns for the trades over the weekend the more I think that the Kane trade won’t be as expensive as we’re afraid it could be.

A conditional second or something.

Kane's NMC control is the deciding factor. No need to pay anything more than a triffle, anything else is overpay.

Third line is still garbage, not worried. Should be an entertaining series though

Great legacy

That’s their lineup next year after letting all the UFAs walk.

We’ll see:

Bratt - Hughes - Mercer
Palat - Hischier - Meier
Sharangovich - Haula - Tatar
Wood - McLeod - Bastian
Seigenthaler - Hamilton
Graves - Marino
Bahl - Severson

Which is actually definitely worthy of taking seriously.

The Lighting are beginning to think they bullied their way to the Cup and that it wasn't Stamkos, Kucherov, Hedman, and Gordie Howe as Brayden Point.

I think that's actually it.

Well adding the grind and bang to their lineup definitely helped. I don't see how anyone can deny that.

That doesn't mean that they should be giving up 1600000 draft picks for Tanner Jeannot. Cal Foote sucks, but he alone should have been fair value.

Their defense doesn't scare me. Their offense does.
