Also fwiw there's already speculation that the Devils aren't keeping Bratt past this year so they can make money (pre-Meier) work for the rest of their players.

They’ll let Graves, Severson, Tatar, Wood and Haula walk. They’ll bring up Holtz full time, along with one or both of Foote/Thompson, Nemec will make the roster and they’ll add a D. Luke Hughes may join the team. They’ll keep Bratt and Meier if I had to guess.

Bratt - Hughes - Meier
Palat - Hischier - Holtz
Sharangovich - Mercer - Foote
Boqvist - McLeod - Bastian/Thompson
Seigenthaler - Hamilton
Hughes - Marino
Bahl - Nemec
Vanacek
Schmid

They’ll fit that under the cap pretty easily and probably have room for a #4D. They’re set up pretty well. Hopefully Meier doesn’t do them any favors on an extension.

Good god thats alot....

The playoffs in the East are insane. Gonna be a whole lot of buyers remorse to go around.

Chicago ownership's fists firmly clenched looking at some of these returns knowing Kane could of fetched way more.

Third line is still garbage, not worried. Should be an entertaining series though
David Poille's greatest move was his last. Unreal
Great legacy

You can debate Jeannot got a better return than Meier lol

I mean you really can't but if we're measuring what they returned vs what they were then yeah its not even close.

Granted the situations aren't exactly similar (2 years of full control vs 1 and no 10M QO) but you're talking about one of the best RW in the league vs a guy who at best is a decent middle six player.

The more I see the returns for the trades over the weekend the more I think that the Kane trade won’t be as expensive as we’re afraid it could be.

A conditional second or something.

Dude. For real. My apologies. You were right. At that price, the Sharks got absolutely boned in that deal.

JB is drunker than I am right now.
