Also about the Islanders. I hate playing shitty Western Conference teams like the Sharks. But the Islanders play that style but are actually good. So we get to see terrible hockey and the Rangers lose 3-0 every game. I'm supposed to like that?

I really do not mean to come here and get in an argument, but instead just to have an honest debate. I am sure many of you visit the Isles board at times and while no doubt we hate you guys as much as you hate us, you would see that like 90% of the posts about the Rangers over the past year actually acknowledge the Rangers have built a strong team and recognized their success and accomplishments last year. There are even many players on the Rangers that we regularly praise and would love to have.
So, while this does not apply to everyone on the Rangers board, but do you guys seriously not see the level of bias on this board in particular? Most people on here never and I mean EVER have a positive thing to say about the Isles. Win, lose, high scoring game, low scoring game, all I ever see on here is the Isles suck, they are lucky, they are boring.
If we beat the Rangers or (any team beats the Rangers for that matter, see above) it is "their Stanley Cup." If the Isles beat the Rangers 3-0, the game was boring and sucked. If the Rangers beat the Isles 3-0 it was a brilliant effort on both ends of the ice. You do realize the Isles (for now) are the fourth highest scoring team in the league? I watch a lot of Rangers games. Did any of you watch the games against Carolina or even moreso against Colorado? You can legit stand there and say those games were boring? Why? Because the Isles won? The game against Colorado which was a 44-39 shots, 5-4 thriller was probably the most exciting game I have seen in the NHL so far in this early season.
Yeah. No.

The Islanders are boring. Terrible team. Them winning is bad for the league. End of story.

Did you just come into a NYR forum and demand respect? LOL yeah....

Maybe you play a little more open hockey without Trotz.. but your roster is still uninspired and bland.

Tage Thompson has 8 points in his like 75 minutes of hockey.

Edit: make that 9. Three points between the third period and OT last game, 6 tonight with 5 minutes left.

What's going on with these good teams losing 4+ in a row so early in the season? Rangers, Penguins, and the Blues are about to lose 5 in a row.

St. Louis is going to do a big sell off this deadline, IMO. This is like their 2016-17 Rangers year. Went all in and kept ROR and Tarasenko and signed Krug and Leddy to horrific contracts to get a couple more kicks at the can.

The Pens are going to be hanging on by a thread year by year until Crosby, Letang, and Malkin ride off into the sunset and they'll be terrible again as soon as they lose them.

Rangers, well, I got nothing for ya.

What a slaughter in Buffalo.

Buffalo and Devils 2 best teams in the league. I bet you we lose to Detroit on Sunday lol
Imagine all at once the torch gets passed sooner than everyone thought, and the new wave pushes out the old (except for Boston) and for some damned reason turns out we were part of the old wave and Claude Giroux leads the Senators to the playoffs and for some reason Kevin Hayes wins the Conn Smythe even though they don't make it out the 2nd round? I can't imagine it.

You have to be biased to not believe your team plays a boring style of hockey. Unless you score first on them the game is unwatchable. I can only think of one decent game we've played and it was the one last year with Copp's first period hat trick. The Islanders are good but they play a style that sets hockey back decades. I used to hate the LA Kings for that too. If the Rangers win 3-0 it likely looks different than if the Islanders win 3-0 because the Rangers play a different style. Though if the Rangers play the Islanders and win 3-0 it'll likely be boring because it's still the Islanders. The last Rangers-Islanders game came on the heels of one of the most fun games I've seen in a while against the Avs. It's clearly not the Rangers making the last matchup boring.
Teams that deploy the trap successfully make the greatest game in the world unwatchable.

This is the pot calling the kettle black. I have seen some of your posts especially last year and nearly every one of them was how the Rangers were the luckiest team in the league and you never gave them credit for a 110 point season and getting within 2 wins of the finals. It was never because they were actually good and had elite skill according to you. Take a hike.

Detroit fans already having buyers remorse with Copp. Meanwhile, Trochek just had "Mr. PPG" embroidered on his favorite sweater.
I never saw it with Copp especially with the money he got. Sure he was a nice player but gotta give Drury some credit at signing Trocheck over Copp. Trocheck is legit a 2C. Copp isn't anywhere being a legit 2C. Maybe a decent 2nd/3rd line winger.

Middlestad looks to have finally taken the next step and Villardi is on fire. These players are examples of why patience and why not to give up on someone like Kravstov.

Yes Kravstov has had a very rough beginning to his full time NHL career, but the players I listed above were drafted in the prior ones to 2018. With the regular "2-3 year" introduction period I referenced, it would make sense that they start to improve by this point.

Kravstov may not be able to handle the NA game with the physicality, but he may also need 2-3 years to put it all together.

The Rangers for their elite forward faults along with the fan base have all been terrible with the patience when it comes to forwards. Sometimes you just leave a guy alone for the duration of the RFA years and by the end, he's worked his way into a top six role.

Wonder how we will fare against Tortorella. I wonder if he still holds a grudge against us …

He's coached three teams since and had a nice run with Columbus. It's almost a decade since he's coached in New York? Why would he have a grudge against the Rangers?

Vancouver is where he got a raw deal.

I'm not looking to get into internet pissing contests either, but while you may be right about the bias on this board, Isles fans are (IMO) over the top with the Rangers hate compared to other fans of rival teams.

Perfect example - last year when all that nonsense happened with Panarin having to go back to Russia to clear his name, the general temperature of the Devil's board was

"Glad this happened to the Rangers BUT this is obviously bullshit and I hope Panarin is ok"

The general temperature of the Isles board was:

"I hope Putin has Panarin arrested, and he can never leave Russia again"

There's the main boards for arguing and then there is going to other teams sites for information on players in fantasy/trades, or if you're doing a road trip. I was in Winnipeg a few weeks back (I've wanted to do that since I remember seeing late night games on Sportchannel in the late 80s with the giant picture of the Queen) and I had some very pleasant exchanges with the Jets fans about the city and their team. It was all respectful, and with good intentions. It made my trip memorable and their suggestions were helpful.

For Rangers/Islanders, c'mon, I don't get why there's a need to come here or for us to go to their boards. We don't like each other, and it's not like we're far away. We know "hotspots" and restaurants to go to in NYC and Nassau. At some points an Islanders fan has been to MSG for a concert, and vice versa for Rangers fans at any of the venues the Islanders have played at.

Us arguing over "whose fanbase is more scummy" is a waste of time and space and that goes for the Miro Satan dude who was here. Look, both out fanbases have some idiots, marks, and morons. Both our fanbases have people who take things too seriously. Do we really need to keep it going with cheap shots on a freaking internet message board or go "well actually our team is..."? This isn't 1985.

I will also add that I don't like Islanders fans in general but I'm never going to key their car or start crap with one. I have family and friends who are Islanders fans and I lived on Long Island until I was nearly 12. We've (friends and family) all been through enough with death, marriage, divorce, births, Bar Mitzvahs, Communions where health and well being are more important than talking hockey shit. We actually have adult conversations.

However Islanders fans who are not friends and family:

-Talked trash to me in the late 80s when I was just a little kid wearing Rangers gear
-Talked trash and were very vile the first time I ever saw a Rangers-Islanders game in 1991 at Nassau Coliseum
-I was in college during the dark ages and I used to wear a lot of Rangers stuff, and some bro Islanders fans started cursing at me in a university food court when we were out of state and probably the only three NY hockey fans on proximity
-When the Giants were in SB 46 in 2012, I went over to the Islanders board even using the "Rangers fan in peace, we're all Giants fans" and I was basically told to get out of their boards.
-Second and final time I went to their boards was to ask for restaurant recommendations by Barclays for pregraming and I was told to get lost

I have more stories but I'll leave it at that. I have no love for that fanbase. Just nasty people who sing nursery rhymes during games.

oof Drysdale out for maybe the whole season. The Ducks suck anyway but it sucks to see a player go down so early, especially a young guy with a bright future.
