I do not and have never understood the criteria for Lady Byng contendership and claiming that any of the awards voted on by the Pro Hockey Writers Association equates to "objective support" for anything is a stretch. However, if we accept that as somehow correlating to "clean" play than Jacob Slavin is still most definitely not even in the top three of players who can be called "cleanest player of all time."

I mean, it's a hyperbole to say all time about anything since none of us were around for all time... but Lady Byng is usually just correllated to minutes played + low penalty mins. Slavin has averaged 23mins a night over 7 years and 500 games. He has 70 total PIMs. Like he's definitely a supremely 'clean' player and one of the most notably so over the last decade...

I would have kept him and waived Hajek. He at least does something useful. Protect teammates and is alright in a depth role and not overused Like when he played for the Bruins.

As an everyday player he stinks but someone to fight goons like Johnston he’s useful. I dont mind him in vs Islanders Flyers Bruins but no way vs Avs Sharks or Penguins. He’s better than Hajek. I cringe when Hajek is in, with Tinordi where’s the fight and extra penalty for tripping lol he is entertaining. Hajek just sucks at everything.
