I've held for a while that Boston would turn it around, but I'm starting to doubt it.

Swayman held out for a little more money... finally shows up and is playing worse than Korpisalo. Boston went from having a top-tier goaltending tandem to whatever that is they got now.

Not sure what else to say, I think in general the supporting cast is just worse and the goaltending is much worse right now. Pastrnak is still a lazy floater, that's not new. Marchand and McAvoy are still low-IQ dirtbags. They can right the ship, and a coaching change might spark it, but it's tough to pin this on Montgomery. The writing was on the wall for Lindholm in his decline over the last couple of seasons, that is not a coaching issue. Wtf is Monty supposed to do? Get out and push?

Yeah probably. He was way fatter than Fatblad in the summertime in Russia and now suddenly he’s trim and top shape.

Liked Shore a lot too. IIRC he was showing some talent in the AHL too but just couldn't get over that last hump as a player.

Brings back memories of hoping Matthias, Shore, Bjugstad, and a few other bigger centers would pan out for us.

That 2015 draft was the start of their downfall. Just didn't feel it early on with their old core still playing well.
Outside of Frederick and McAvoy in 16, and Swayman in 17, their 2018,19,20, 21 draft classes produced nothing to date.
You got guys like Beecher, Lohrei, and Poitras in the AHL/NHL now but none have established themselves yet.

Once Florida ended their dreams a few years ago they lost center #1 & #2, and their centers on the roster were just mid tier middle 6 guys with no young guys to take over.

I'm just glad their front office fired Cassidy. While I don't think Jim is to blame, Cassidy IMO was just a notch or two better.
