The Wings would be foolish to spend money on Kane. Dump salary now and make a play for a star player .

Rumors around McDavid go from the Pens to the Rangers but that isn't what the cap space says, at least today. The big dogs for both are contracted through 24. Who has a ton of space.... Chicago. McDavid and Bedard...ugh


Back to the point of the post... work the dollars to be in the running for one of these top tier elite players.

Taylor Hall out for the year... hope they got on an Edmonton run of wasting high draft picks in a losing culture. Don't wish bad upon any player but that franchise needs to be in the dumps for a long time before people forget.

Most the pro sports have done a brutal job at adjusting to the speed of the games these days. Hockey is especially bad these days. 2 minutes was fine for that, maybe 4 if bleeding but his stick was near his waist line... after reviewing that, you need to use common sense.

Guy has single handedly held back multiple Hall of Famers from getting Stanley Cups for the last 15 or so years from gross negligence... probably gets hired in the summer again.

Why though? I’m genuinely curious. It’s not like Holland has done a tremendous job in the last decade as GM.

Other than being a member of the old boys club I can’t imagine what he’d bring to the Wings organization that they didn’t already have.

I'd want him no where near the organization unless he had zero influence on any decision related to hockey. He can run charity golf tournaments and throw fundraisers.

Why? He's proven time and time again over the last 10+ years that the game has passed him by.

Yeah, not basing my opinion on any hate for the guy, but I don't see where value would really be added if Holland came back. It's not that he doesn't have any valuable knowledge, but is it valuable to Detroit? Especially given how many mistakes he's made in recent years? Even if there is something he could offer the Wings that they don't already have, I'm not sure he isn't more likely to poison the braintrust with his archaic views of player and contract values than he is to add anything advantageous. He's just not up to speed with the current NHL from what I can tell.

It's not just blind hate for the guy. Look at Yzerman's last 10 years as a GM. Now look at Kenny's.

Not sure why that guy gets so much love, he was completely useless as Caps assistant coach and has an abysmal playoff record at every level. I think he'll wind up being an assistant again somewhere.
