The LA Kings have acquired right wing Tobias Rieder and goaltender Scott Wedgewood from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for goaltender Darcy Kuemper.

Man, that was a shit trade for us.

At the time they needed a scorer with speed, which Reider had. Unfortunately, the scoring part never showed up. Sell high type trade seeing how Kuemper was a cheap FA signing and the Kings weren't going anywhere. Never thought 4 years later he'd fetch a first.

The problem with Kuemper was that they had Quick, Campbell, and Petersen at the same time, while Kuemper was going to be a UFA that summer. It's tough for him to have much value at the time. The Kings were even still a couple years away from trading Campbell, and he's a year younger. Plus Ari was not as desperate as Col was.

That's the fate you seal when you sign Quick to a 10 year deal. No other goalie is going to stick around. The only reason Petersen was the guy to do so is because he's the youngest of the bunch that's been behind Quick all these years, and Quick is now nearly at the end of that Cup contract.

Parse was good, but I don’t think he approached the level of others, one in particular.

I’m thinking they can name one of the streets around the arena after him. Nick Shore Drive, kind of like Lake Shore Drive in Chicago.

Yeah I think the last exciting forward we had or player in general was Palffy
Some will say frolov. Cammy had his moment.
I think Kopitar is a future hall of famer, but I think what LA has lacked for a long time is the 100 point/ 40 goal player.
Would way rather take the teams from 12-14 but I also want it all!!

Listened to 1st period of Vegas-Caps game last night; only Vegas feed available on Sirius NHL. 1-0 Caps. Ref was going to call Pacioretty for high-sticking Ovie. Apparently Ovie told the ref it wasn’t high sticking and no call. The Vegas announcers couldn’t believe it. I went NUTS in the car. (1) Can you imagine Vegas ever doing that in reverse? (2) Like Vegas needs any reffing help.
Of course Martinez scores not long after, 1-1.
.. unbelievable ..

Frolov was a hell of a player.

You see how much love and praise someone like Tyler Toffoli gets yet Fro was a far superior player that never got as much recognition since many of the current Kings fans didn't start watching the team until 2012-2015.
