If LA goes 4-1 they are in no matter what Vegas does. Anything less and they'll need help. LA's in good shape but not out of the woods yet.
If the 1 loss is to Vancouver they wont be in if Van wins out (i think Van will have tie breaker on regulation wins)

The race just got even tighter tonight. Vancouver is now a threat. If they win against the Senators tomorrow and if the Kings lose in regulation, they’ll be two points back of LA with a game in hand and a head-to-head still remaining. Meanwhile, the Preds play Calgary.
I did say if the kings don't keep winning Vancouver's going to pass us real fast. It's gonna be a tight race alright. I don't think the Ducks are going to roll over for us. Not gonna be easy.

I'm confused, didn't we want Dallas to win that game?

Van is still 4pts back. Dal losing keeps them just 1pt ahead. If you don't get 3rd in the Pac, you want another avenue open. If one or both WC spots are up for grabs, that's 3 chances.

If Dal was 5pts up with a game in hand, ok, go Dal. But they're close enough, and not good enough, especially in regulation, where they might be the team that misses.

Wouldn’t the better goal to be leaving the standings where they are? Vancouver winning brings them closer to 3rd in the Pacific. That is worse for us than Dallas maintaining the Wild Card.

I hope Vancouver and Las Vegas don’t win another game this season.

The standings didn't change. I don't care about Van. In that one game though, I'll accept their win. If Dal won that would've been fine too. Either way, just don't go to OT.

What’s the first tie breaker , if we win out and van wins out we have most wins,RW, and ROW "………………..,

If the standings stayed where they are today, the Kings would face the Oilers in the first round.

If the Vegas or Van catches us and force the Kings into a Wild Card position taking Dallas's spot we would face the Avalanche.

3rd in The Pacific or bust! No reason to waste 8 days!

Man I love Daryl.

Would be great if LA ending Smith's career, but that guy shows up in the playoffs and I think the Oilers were whiny enough last playoffs that they will be getting a shit load of PPs.

Still better chance against Edmonton than the Avs.

Looks like St. Louis vs Minnesota is locked, and same with Calgary vs Nashville (they play tonight).

Nashville is far from a lock to make the playoffs. Their remaining schedule is so brutal

Vancouver need to win out, including a back to back to end the year. They play after tonight, Minn, Calgary, Sea, LA, and end with EDM. Without Horvat, it's going to be be really tough for them. They will miss out.

I'd rather they face the Oilers than the Avs, but I'd also rather have 3 chances for them to make it than just 1.

Tonight, if I'm forced to pick a winner in regulation, I'd rather it be Dal, not Edm. A Dal win puts them ahead by 1, but it keeps Edm within 2. Not that I trust the Kings with home ice advantage in a playoff series, but I'd still rather see them get 2nd than 3rd in the Pac if possible.
