The Caps have won 6 of 7, with five of those vs playoff teams, including a road win two nights ago in Colorado. They have scored 37 goals and given up 23 in that time and they are in a tight playoff seeding race with Pittsburgh trying to avoid Florida in round 1. And yet Vegas is the -145 team tonight.

I get it this is basically the last stand for the Knights but that seems off.

I'd rather they face the Oilers than the Avs, but I'd also rather have 3 chances for them to make it than just 1.

Tonight, if I'm forced to pick a winner in regulation, I'd rather it be Dal, not Edm. A Dal win puts them ahead by 1, but it keeps Edm within 2. Not that I trust the Kings with home ice advantage in a playoff series, but I'd still rather see them get 2nd than 3rd in the Pac if possible.
It's irrelevant what The Oilers do.

If the Kings currently face the Oilers, and the two swap spots, the Kings will still face the Oilers. Only home ice will change and I am not sure that's really an advantage.

Keeping the teams below us in The Pacific is the only thing that makes sense.

And did anything change in that regard?

*puts on conspiracy hat*

Seems like easy money if you know how this league works, smart bet is 'put life savings on VGK' tonight

Marchessault will saw a dude in half with a slash and that player will get called for embellishment en route to a VGK victory

Not that I wish injury upon a player, buuuuuut...

I wouldn't hate it if Tom Wilson gave Marchessault a taste of his own medicine.

Lehner just let in a soft one.. VGK gambled that he could hold down the fort and that has been their biggest weakness. Going after Eichel may not have been their best move shouldve shored up the goal.

Beniers now has points in all 4 games played since joining the Kraken.
Wow, and he's had 5 minutes of ice time in one period? Better tell Seattle they'll ruin him.

Real teams would give him less than 10 minutes for the entire game.

Edit: actually, just noticed that he's averaging 18+ minutes per game. Third among forwards. Isn't that illegal?

So bringing a guy over after just a single year of college isn't a death sentence?

He played two full years of college hockey, not one, and seamlessly transitioned right into the NHL after taking a big step as a college sophomore. You know, the proven successful way for players like that to be developed as opposed to "getting him in the system with Nelly and Muzz"

We can add him to Makar, Hughes, McAvoy, Werenski, Boldy, Caufield, Norris, Newhook, Knight, Miller in the last 5 years.

Also, never said a single year of college is a death sentence for all prospects, have said numerous times if you are going to be a solid contributor in the NHL you shouldn't return to college. Eichel, Keller and Larkin for example had nothing left to gain at the NCAA level.

On PP1, too.

How is he ever going to learn to check while getting all these offensive reps with the puck on his stick?

His career's been ruined before it began. He needs to play in the bottom-six and learn how to pin players on the boards for a good two seasons before he can think of being a meaningful contributor.

I’m just giving you a hard time :)
