Got to give Dallas credit, they seamlessly went from Seguin, Radulov and Benn's team to Hintz and Richardson's team and are still fighting for a playoff spot.

I wonder if the Kings would have taken local kid Richardson had he not been taken 2 spots earlier in the 2017 draft.

Disagree. The above doesn't change anything except remove reviews where the guy was trying super hard to stay onsides but was a pixel off on their super HD camera, it's not going to result in more dudes trying to cheat.

i just don't quite understand the offsides review when there's literally no recourse for plays where they call it offside when it actually wasn't.. that play's just blown dead and "tough luck deal with it"

everybody parrots the "we just want to get the call right" line but there's a million other situations where they're cool with getting it wrong. i don't really have a strong opinion about the review one way or the other, but it does feel a bit cheap calling a goal back over a blonde one.. we gonna start reviewing icing plays? sometimes those tilt the ice more than a missed offside

I think what pisses me me off is when a team works really hard to score a big goal and then it's overturned because early on in the shift it was a cm offside. The linesmen are literally standing right there on both lines.

Replay is fantastic for a lot of things (esp. goalie interference and 5 min majors) but this has gotten really, really out of hand with less scoring and coaches delaying the game to try and get a goal overturned.

A funny story, for me anyway.
I remember my brother pulling off a hit almost identical against the team that were the equivalent of the Broad Street Bullies in what was basically an amateur feeder league he played in before playing semi-pro. The guy was down for ages and when he got up he demanded to know who had hit him. He was maybe 30 yrs (and a big guy) and my brother was 16 IIRC. Everyone was expecting it to kick off, his team mates were all getting ready to fight, loosening gloves, pads etc. When he finally pushed past the linesman who had tried to stop him, he exclaimed “great hit”, shook my brothers hand and went back to the dressing room. I had to respect it, even the guys team mates looked confused. It was hilarious… they just shrugged and got on with it. I’d even started heading to the bench in case I needed to help out .

If only all clean hits were responded to with a similar level of class… by that I mean no retaliation.
