Ken Holland has to be the dumbest f***ing GM in the NHL, not addressing his shoddy goaltending.

They just don't have the depth to win either.

Better goaltending would help, but the defense is abysmal. That Darnell Nurse contract might be the worst in the NHL, an absolute boat anchor of a deal that will bite them in the ass for a long time

To put things into perspective for how bad it was for the Oilers tonight, The Flames scored 9 goals, all at even strength. The Flames also hit three posts and Toffoli missed an open net. The Oilers were extremely lucky it was only 9

I was telling my buddy last night as we were watching Cal/Edm on a 2nd screen that it was like a second sport. Kings and Seattle just beating each other up in the neutral zone and over the blue lines…for oilers and flames the neutral zone didn’t exist as anything but a portal/warp to the other offensive zone. Camera man had to be on adderall

They can't even get average goaltending on a night to night basis. Goalie gets pulled after giving up 5, Smith gives up 4 more.

The thing with the Oilers is that if the big 2 actually played with any effort defensively and focused on the defensive details they’d be awesome. It’s so achievable but they prefer to constantly cheat to the offence. Can you imagine if the had Danault in the lineup covering their butts? Oilers fans like to blame depth but the top lines are so often the ones dominated 5/5 as they were against the Flames. They play to rack up points first, winning comes second… thankfully.

still cannot believe they lost markstrom to the flames. Had edmonton just ponied up the extra $500K a year and one more year think of how different this division would be
