So Gaudreau to CBJ and Pacioretty to Carolina for a bag of pucks.

I.E.
Pretty amazing that Gaudreau isnt in the pacific anymore. I was tired of seeing his prepubescent stature dangle into the Kings zone without getting rocked.

Wonder if he'll get away with shaking the wrong hand with that much focus on him.

As a Kings fan; I'm happy with this.

Ryan Strome is not a hard player to go up against. I was fully expecting a Nazem Kadri to ANA deal.

That Danault-Strome matchup is gonna be an absolute seal clubbing.

Jack Campbell got 5x5. And Petersen got 5x3 for literally no reason. Amazing.

God what the f*** were they smoking when they gave petersen that contract. still blows my mind.

Quick drove out Bernier, Scrivens, Jones, Budaj, Bishop, Kuemper, and Campbell. Petersen was the last guy left as Quick started to look old.

Petersen has seemed to only get worse as he's played more. Like technically. When he first played, he was the opposite of Quick. Playing the angles, no wasted movement. Wherever that Petersen went, that's the guy they need.

Don't forget our good friends Erik Ersberg and Jonas Enroth.

Petersen stopped playing the angles and tried to play more like Quick. Whether or not that was ranford or petersen smoking the pipe, didnt get it.

He started playing more scrambled. And my god he was so bad moving laterally. He was the worst lateral moving goalie the Kings have had since cloutier. Legit terrible.

The Flames are in a tough spot with Tkachuk.

He's not as good as his stats this year. He'll never score 40, or put 100pts ever again. But he wants to get paid like he will.

He was playing on a line with Gaudreau. With him gone, and Tkachuk's S% likely reverting, he's probably going back to being a sub-PPG player.

Winning the offseason doesn't often lead to regular season success, but I think Ottawa is far and away the clear winner of the offseason so far. Getting DeBrincat and Giroux to play on a line with 20 year old Stutzle is exactly how you put a valuable young player in a position to succeed

On the other hand the Flyers look like a dumpster fire

Today I got to remind a lot of my (very new to hockey) in laws that George McPhee is the same troglodyte GM who had PRIME OVECHKIN for like ten years and failed to get anywhere.

Vegas was in a really good position like two years ago but McPhee just can’t help himself.

Just important to repeat what a bad move it was to trade for Eichel if you were planning to be a contender.

He was going to take time to get back in game shape with a new treatment for hockey players

It cost valuable assets, including roster players.

Additional moves would need to be made for cap space.

The thing is it was so predictable, it seems everyone but Vegas saw it coming and we don’t yet know if Eichel can rediscover his top game. It’s kinda funny that wanted out of Buffalo to contend and the Sabres could be the better side this year. How long before the pouting starts?

That’s why there is every chance he rebounds to playing solid hockey. He wasn’t playing like himself, so it feels like a mental issue with him perhaps trying too hard and the pressure. If he can reset he can provide solid if unspectacular goaltending. Nearly all the established goaltenders in the league have a bad season or two on their resume, so it’ll be about how he bounces back. Huge year for him.

So I decided to start visiting you guys until the cronies are gone. I obviously can't read all of the comments, but how's your off-season going?

It did look like he started trying to play like Quick.

But instead of the whole "never giving up on a play" thing, he'd give up after flailing once and the puck would be in the back of the net

Pretty cool I guess. Getting Fiala is obviously tight as f***
