I really want Quick to hit 400 wins, but a lot of things would have to go right and wrong over the next 2 seasons. Right in that he has a continued resurgence. Wrong in that Petersen proves to not be a legit #1.
Depends. He's only 36. Lots of goalies play until they're 40. Not saying he should, but one more 20-win season and two 10-win backup seasons gets him to 399. have you never?Drunk skating has to be fun.
Cujo and Vernon come to my mindHow in the hell did Luongo get in especially with how tough goalies have it? And on the first ballot too. Most overrated goalie of his generation who accomplished absolutely nothing and always failed in big moments. And he’s the reason Canada couldn’t close out the gold medal game in regulation back in 2010. There are guys who aren’t in the Hall who I’d take over him if I needed to win one game.
As a Canadian I sadly agree with this. Alot of great players do not get the recognition they deserve because of it.That Mogilny isn't in and Alfredsson is tells you how much extra HHOF value you get for being in a canadian market.
Mogilny played something like 300-400 games as a Canuck and Leaf, but was usually riding shotgun to a more prolific player. That Mogilny isn't in and Alfredsson is tells you how much extra HHOF value you get for being in a canadian market.
If I get on the ice in skates, I don't have to be drunk to drunk skate. lolhave you never?

Sadly even in Canada East coast get a lot more coverage than West.
Maybe, but Kopitar's got two cups and two Selke trophies to Alfredsson's lone Calder trophy. Kopitar's currently 69th (nice) all time in NHL points scored, and a career-average season (66 points) will put him up into 60th, one point behind Marian Hossa. He needs 90 points to pass Alfredsson's career total. Kopitar could very realistically hit 1200 points in his career, putting him up into the top 50 all time. That's no small feat.Mogilny played something like 300-400 games as a Canuck and Leaf, but was usually riding shotgun to a more prolific player.
I think Alfredsson gets in for the same reason Kopitar will - lengthy B+ careers as the best forward during the most successful periods of off-brand market teams.

As an aside, Ovechkin, Crosby, Kane, and Malkin are the only active players who have more points than Kopitar.
No shit.
Like I said, a lengthy B+ career that will get him into the Hall. The Cups are massive, the trophies, where he temporarily fits into all-time lists, that’s just window-dressing. He has been a very good player for a very long time on an outlier team that traditionally doesn't gather much attention. He is also Slovenian, which helps him for sure.
Anze has legitimately only been in the top-5 of his position one season out of his entire career. His top skill sets aren't the sort you see in HoFers - see the debate over Carbonneau, who was the best defensive forward on the planet for nearly a decade, and there are a whole bunch of folks who feel Alfredsson was better than him. He wasn't.
Kopitar deserves the HoF and will enter it the same way he plays: attrition, via being consistently very good for a very long time.
If Quick gets to 400 wins, you think that gets him into the Hall?
Just when I thought we were entering the 'fond appreciation' stage of Anze's career, too. What a kick in his nuts.
I'm trying to figure out how such an awful take.....got into play, once in a what, 16 year career, Kopitar has been a top 5 at his position? Like I said, the ONLY WAY THAT IS REMOTELY POSSIBLE...is you take the narrow narrow narrow point of view that points above all else

He’s fourth all time in wins among American goalies but only 32 behind number 1 (Ryan Miller). Vanbiesbrouck and Barrasso are between them. He’s currently number 1 in shutouts though. With Luongo in now, I think he's got a strong shot, could go either way, he's got 2 Cups, a Conn Smythe, I think he is the winningest US born goalie now (could be wrong on that, and I don't care to look it up this second)

If Luongo gets in, I’m gonna lose my shit if Quick doesn’t get in.
Justin Williams, Tim Thomas, Henrik Zetterberg, Cam Ward, Brad Richards, J.S. Giguere, Mike Vernon, Claude Lemieux, Bill Ranford, Ron Hextall, Butch Goring, Reggie Leach, and Roger Crozier. Quite a few.How many Conn Smythe winners aren't in the Hall?
