I'd steer them towards Tampa too with the great tax situation. Not gonna lie, the fact that the Kraken have a similar advantage is in the back of my head.

I'm pretty close to dragging the fam up there and relocating to make it easier to save enough to pay for the kids' college if they want to go that route, retire on time, etc. We actually enjoy that kind of weather and lack of state tax is a pretty appealing perk. If I actually made millions it would be a no-brainer.

I had the Bills winning the Super Bowl this year and if it weren't for a lame random OT format it probably would be happening (I've always hated the flip). People always rag on the Pegulas but I never hear about them so what's the problem. They aren't meddling from anything I've seen/heard. Sabres are a total disaster and at this point the only thing they have going is a massive fanbase (unlike the dumpster fire in AZ). Bills Mafia is ridiculous too, I see them everywhere, if those team could win they would be printing money. There's something seriously wrong with the Sabres, the entire team is a disaster. Lehner called out their medical staff, couple that with how they handled the Eichel ordeal, and you really have to wonder who they are even hiring. Every aspect of the team is a disaster.
The Bills losing a playoff game on a coin flip doesn't mean they weren't the best team overall. I thought they were, and would have handled Cincinnati in the AFC championship game.

God I hope he gets it. That team deserves him

Dean Lombardi recognized those issues when he became the Kings GM. He upgraded the facilities, scouting, and I presume the staff . Everyone has the same cap (tax issues aside). It's all that other stuff that gives teams an advantage.

He had an interview after the Kings won in 2012 where he spoke about this.

Luc just spoke to the importance of the practice facility in this regards too. I would imagine there are some takeaways there for Blake and Luc to put into place with LA to maybe help things out more. It is good LA was not on the worst destinations list, but there is no reason for them to be left off the best. Not saying LA will ever be #1 there (west coast travel is a real killer), but to be left off is not good.

I was stationed up there for 3 years back in the 90’s and I LOVED it. Wish I could go live up there again.

Sister and Bro n Law just moved to Florida this summer. They really love it there. Went there for a few months and already bought a house. Not a bad idea actually.

The taxation is only going to get worse for CA too, 13.3% for basically all players who play on the Kings is absurd but there is no way they are going to do what they want without raising it more, probably close to 17% according to what I have read. These guys are signing 6 year deals it's a big leap to wonder what the taxation situation will be like by the end of it. Also they are ruthless and aggressive in coming after people they think are trying to avoid it. I by no means have income that comes close to anyone on the Kings but I had a residency audit two years ago. I still own a place in OC and do spend a alot of time in CA but nowhere near 6 months + 1 day, but they didn't take my word for it.

To get back on to hockey, Sanderson is stuck in LA with Covid, lucky for him he didn't test positive in China. As a UM guy I am worried one of our guys is going to test positive and be stuck in a Beijing hotel for 5 weeks, it's a scary situation I wish had been avoided.

And not surprising the NHL agents think so highly of Reverend Kane and not Bettman. The NBA is completely run by the players, or should I say a select few players where as the other leagues don't have the inmates running the asylum.

Not gonna lie, I like Turcotte, but after watching Zegras' all-star goal... Man, it would have been fun to have him on this team...

It's really frustrating for two reasons.

1. They both played for the same junior program. The NTDP that year was historically loaded and the Kings had a high pick so the Kings should have obviously had a ton of guys through Plymouth that season to see them play.

2. He went to the Ducks. If he had gone to any of the other 30 teams in the league it's not nearly as painful.

But yeah, he obviously had a ton of swag about him right now, becoming a household name for hockey fans. Twice this season he has made plays that have caused phones to be passed around my beer league locker room with the "You got to see what this kid did"

That whole shootout thing was so cringy and dumb.... however Zegras's shootout was insane. Kid has so much F**ken skills it's amazing. I love Turcotte too and he will take time, but would have been interesting how the Kings brass handle Zegras. As many have said learning how to be a great checking center in the A. LOL.

As a Panthers fan, we don't need to talk about any of this.

I have a very strong source that told me Rhule was going to be our coach at UM if Harbaugh had left. I think the Panthers would have been happy to get out from that contract.

They told him not to speak, just show up. He didn’t want to ruin the trick.

“To be honest they told me I had to show up there, probably three minutes before,” Marchessault said, laughing. “They were telling me, ‘You just have to show up, you don’t have to say anything,’ so that’s what I did. But it was a long pause.”
Marchessault was worried most about spoiling the magic trick by blurting out something he wasn’t supposed to.
“So he tells me to pick one, right,” Marchessault recalled. “I was wondering, should I say it? I didn’t know if he was tricking me or something. I didn’t want to mess with his trick.”

I always knew squirt gun kelly sucked before i ever heard a song, turns out he's even worse than I thought. I think I'd rather have Pink or Jacket Jackson perform at the Allstar game.

Man, these sports execs continue to live light years away from the reality of the average sports fan.
