The Kings would have had Drew Doughty or Erik Karlsson on the ice for basically the entire game, I think the Kings may have been able to win another one (maybe 2013) or 2016.
Karlsson is not generational, his run at a dominating level was not long enough but his peak was extraordinary. One of the hardest things in the sport is transitioning from defense to offense and Karlsson could do it all by himself, like no defenseman since Coffey, who played in a much more run and gun era. Mark Stone says EK was the best player in the world from 2015 to 2017, and I agree with him. Ottawa getting to Game 7 OT vs Pittsburgh in the ECF with that roster was a huge feather in EK’s cap.

It would've been interesting to see how drafting EK might've effected the rest of the draft and other trades going forward. I mean would they still drafted Voynov? And when it came time to trade for Carter, would he have been the one Lumbus asked for instead of Johnson.
Well they drafted three RHD that year, so who knows maybe they do take Voynov still. Or maybe they take a LHD in Josi and have the best draft in NHL history.
EK was already a borderline superstar in 2012 (at age 21), so it's very unlikely the Kings would have traded him. EK was already a significantly more valuable asset than Carter and 5 years younger. They probably would have still traded Johnson, maybe even sooner.
16: LA Kings
“Faust with the Kings is one of the best young pxp out there. ESPN should get him. (He’d) instantly make them better behind the mic,” said a MinnesotaWild fan, one of many out-of-market viewers to suggest he deserves consideration for national calls.
Fox is equally popular, especially among Kings fans. He’s one of the rare color commentators that’s been praised for his ability to add genuine insight to replays.
“Fox blends astute analysis with quick-witted humor and is the true star of the show,” read one ballot from L.A.
Yes, but we can't be the only ones that think Faust & Foxy are like oil and water? Sad to say but Faust is miles better on a national broadcast without Fox.
1. Detroit Red Wings
I think his biggest issue is being a cheese-dick.Faust's problems on our broadcast are letting Jim run him over, being a jinxer(I don't care if he doesn't believe), and the amount of errors he makes shouldn't be happening. I think letting Fox dominate the broadcast is his biggest issue.

Play like a b*tch, get treated like a b*tch.I thought Mikey ripped off Draisaitls leg and fed it to cannibal lemieux
Fair points. I still don't want them to threepeat, but I am much happier watching them kick the shit out of the Rangers.I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum in wanting to see a team threepeat since it hasn't been done since the Islanders did it in the 80s, plus it would silence those critics who've been calling them Covid Cup champs, as if the rules for them are different and doesn't apply for other teams.
They've also done something the Kings are trying to do, which is to build a winning team that is mostly composed of their own drafted talent.
