The Hawks are going to try and bottom out and get a Top 3 pick next year while still having two very good players in Kane and Jones. Boy, that Jones trade, yikes.

Yes, some people here will automatically say no strictly based on his size, just like Gaudreau and Caufield. Maybe the success of Arvidsson will sway some peoples views though. But he scored 41 goals exactly 2 of the last 4 years, the other year 32 in 52 which is a 50 goal pace. Only 24 years old but is exactly the type of player the Kings need.

The cost is going to be extremely high, you just don't see team controlled goal-scorers like this on the market at 24. How comfortable would you be with Byfield and other assets going the other way?

I see pros and cons, the cons being the cost is going to be insanely high. But the Kings can't expect to win games scoring this few goals again. There is going to be a point where Blake is going to have to make a Palffy type trade.

Hard to say if he will be locked up at all with the DA's we have in big cities these days.

Maker is obviously a generational type defenseman but man would it be tough to choose any defender over Hedman in a Game 7 right now. The guy makes it look so easy.

Makar - Toews stands to be one of the best pairings of modern times honestly. Like you say hard to bet against Hedman too, though, and one has to like TBL's supporting cast better, having the luxury of McDonagh on a 2nd pairing is just absurdity, and Sergachev on a 3rd is absolute madness.

For all the love TBL's forwards always get (deservedly) the D as a whole gets overlooked. I think that and Vas are their biggest advantages against Colorado really. TBL might have the deepest squad of the cap era at this point, I get the sense they're going to be looked back upon like some of those Red Wings squads stuffed with HoFers.
