Montreal has a mess with COVID, but your golden cow and savior not producing is a whole other mess. And that's basically all they ask him to do.

Three of them are in LA: Roy, Bjornfot, and Anderson.

Anderson has one assist in 32 games. How? How is that possible? He gets top pairing minutes with Doughty. He plays with our top line. I don't get his absolute black hole of production.

I mean, have you seen him play? He gives the puck to Doughty every chance he gets or rockets a pass that at best gets deflected into the opposing zone. Bank it off the boards and out. That’s Mikey’s prime directive.
As long as he rides shotgun with Doughty he will not develop any sort of offense.

Would be so frustrating being a Coiler fan right now. Have two of the best players and management continues to flounder it. Last summer the blue print was easy IMO. Pick up a goalie (there were plenty available), and get an upgrade on D. Keith is not that, and they re-signed Smith, while not buying out Koskinen. Goaltending is the biggest issue for the IMO. I would be calling the Blue Jackets or the Rangers ASAP.

...or the Kings.

Agreed. Ken Holland showed he wasn't able to adjust to the current NHL in Detroit with his crappy contracts but the Oilers bring him in and he doubles down on half of the residents at Shady Acres. Not really Smith's fault due to injury -though he's been pretty mehh when he has played- but imagine thinking it's a good plan to lock up $5.5 million in cap space (this year and next) to a 38 year old blueliner who analytically has been a black hole for a few years now, nevermind actually giving up assets to do it.

People shouldn't have to use their tax money to fund the building of an arena for a team involved in a partnership which will generate over $5 billion in revenue over the course of the 2021-22 season. The owners can pay for their own arenas.

You'd think more than one would go from Anderson to Doughty to someone and then into the net though. His lone assist came on an Arthur Kaliyev goal against Ottawa during the infamous biting game.

If you look really closely, you can see Anderson's shadow in the first frame. Clearly he was a big part of the success of that goal.

In principle I agree with you, however once a deal is reached i want my city to stick to it and constantly change terms and amounts. I get why the flames walked away. Could be a blessing though as well.

The hockey gods are wondering how they could bless the Oilers with first overall picks galore including the greatest player possibly ever and then watch them still suck.
