Habs are a really tough team to evaluate. Almost 100% built on young guys playing river hockey. They'd be more exciting if their net wasn't pumped every night.

Can't tell how much is inexperience or if MSL is a bad coach, but the team is definitely bad.

Yeah, I think it’s a coaching issue. There’s talent but like you stated, they’re playing pond hockey. Pretty crappy NHL product.

Losing as a young team is one thing, constant losing as a young team can devastate player morale and development. Just look at Hall era Oilers, and how bad that team was despite having had so f***ing many 1st overall picks.

As evidence by the fact they couldn’t get rid of him last year… so much demand
Clearly those GM’s agreed
I don't recall any reports or even serious speculation that the Canucks were making any effort to get rid of Myers last season, as opposed to the season before that.

Even if they did it means nothing. Different position or not, I don't think you'll find anyone suggesting that Boeser or Garland are among the worst in the league because the Canucks couldn't get rid of them and not even their agents could find a deal to get them to a different organization, nor that Brannstrom is a useless player because 31 teams passed on getting him for the nominal price paid for a waiver claim even though with him being on an expiring contract at only $900K for the season there was next to no risk.

My guess is that if the Canucks wanted Fabbro they'd have traded a low pick for him rather than risk one of the 25 or so teams behind them in the current standings making a waiver claim. They'd have to do something to find the cap space if they did acquire him.

They have like 7 actual NHLers most nights on the team. No goalie. They are a couple years away unless they start trading for actual NHLers and not just 4th liners.

OV is gonna break the f***ing record this year isn't he?
4 nations rosters going to be announced soon, who the f*** is gonna play goal for Canada. Binnington getting lit up. It's crazy how terrible Canada's goaltending is these days.

The Habs top six has plenty of promising young players. Just no structure or consistency. And it's maybe the worst defensive D corps in a while.

Montembeault has still had some really nice performances without any help and is probably one of the better Canadian goalies. I haven't watched any Vegas games to make sure Hill is healthy, but we might be "pressured" to cheer for Stuart Skinner.

Young top 6. Not big game changers.

I'd have to think Kuemper, Binnington, Hill will be the 3 Canadian goalies. Who knows who starts.

The same reason why we got Zadorov for peanuts last year at around this time is the same reason Fabbro probably won’t be claimed.

Milwaukee, probably.
Friedman agrees. There's a very limited number of teams that would have any interest in Fabbro.
Wrong again, CBJ has all retention spots and cap space to spare, no brainer claim a youngish rhd that could turn into an asset within six months.

Would not be surprised if he's a canuck in that same time-frame given the previous interest and apparent spot available.

Smart move by a team where cap space is a non issue.

Like i said put him in a position to succeed and sell sell sell at the deadline. Free asset for an overpaid but useful player

If our manager had half a brain from 2014 on this would have been the move rather than blowing the wad on July 1st and then being stuck with players you cant ever move because the back end of the contracts are not even useful players to go with capping yourself out and not being able to weaponize it.

Ducks shoud have been all over this but Verbeek is looking pretty bad right now

One could argue that actually makes them quite easy to evaluate.
