I admit to being a bit biased here, but I wouldn't say Conroy has done extremely well in trades. The Toffoli trade was very good. Zadorov was ok. Lindholm deal I would consider to be good but I think they could have extracted more value if they didn't want a player back in return who can contribute. Hanifin's return I felt was a bit underwhelming. The return will likely be a late 1st round pick this year + 3rd. Don't think Miromanov will amount to much. In comparison, Hronek's return for Detroit was better. Tanev didn't return a 1st round pick and Grushnikov isn't looking too bluechip but time will tell. The Markstrom trade was excellent.
Keep in mind that originally he wanted to re-sign Lindholm and Hanifin instead of rebuilding (ownership pressure of course).
I just don't see Calgary being a very good team. Their best players are aging and Andersson might not re-sign. Where are the building blocks up front especially at C? Previously the Flames had Gaudreau (RIP), Tkachuk, Lindholm, Monahan, and Backlund with Mangiapane, Bennett, and Hathaway rounding out the group as well.
