I think what people are missing in the Calgary and Philadelphia is that the second round pick given up by Calgary is the most valuable asset in the deal. Kuzmenko is a negative value asset, and Farabee, with his current contract and production, can't have much value at all.
I like the deal from both sides in that Calgary takes a shot on two mid twenties forwards who could improve, and Calgary has tons of cap space so can afford to take this risk.
The Flyers clear a bunch of cap for next year, and with the second round pick they acquired from Calgary, can acquire a player that is better than either of Farabee or Frost.
