Courtney, the actress was a very good sport about it. I thought I could see in her eyes the “I want to laugh harder but I really shouldn’t” look.

He was so good, he was able to make a set up and punchline the same sentence. He was so good, people he rubbed the wrong way thought he was funny. He was so good, and this is the telltale of any artist - he could do different styles exceptionally.

E; I know I’m really OT I’ll stop there. Had to get all the tism out.
I got to see him live in Vancouver several years ago, one of the best nights of comedy I've ever experienced. The guy was an absolute master.

His bit about the Crocodile Hunter on the Daily Show is one of the funniest, darkest things ever. Jon Stewart was begging for his life.

The East playoff spots are essentially set now. NJ beating TB could have made it interesting, but they basically lost their season this morning.

WAS and PIT are not gonna go on a big enough run to catch up.

Give Kuch the Hart.
It's interesting because a lot of the trade predictors had Markstrom going to New Jersey. Could still happen I guess, but if they are out they might sell or stand pat, meaning Marky Mark could go elsewhere. Leafs would be smart to try, but I don't think they will. I cannot imagine the Flames trading him to the Oilers, but it would address a huge Edmonton need.

I don't see Markstrom to NJ now. NJ is done. Season is finished. The game against TB was their biggest one of the season and their chance to give themselves a realistic shot at the playoffs. They blew it with a listless effort.

Yeah, they’re in this weird limbo where they do something really good, and then really strange. Their focus is correct.

I also would really like how AZ is developing. They would be really scary in 3-5 years with all those picks. I say would because the organization can’t find a home. I like their business of hockey but their regular business is cooked. f***, I know they don’t want to pull the plug for plenty of good reasons but they’ve been on life support since before I even touched a hockey stick. That’s a ridiculously long time to have a recurring clown show.

They are so quick to say a Canadian franchise is failing and then throw the kitchen sink in a location that has no interest in housing a team for 20 years. But you’ll know they aren’t going anywhere the potential dollars are too much. Who knows? Maybe what they say is true - if at first you don’t succeed, keep sinking money into the problem until it does.
At some point, either AZ is a market for NHL hockey or it's not. If it was some golden goose, some wealthy individual would have stepped in and bought the team and got an arena built.

Timing for the Coyotes is always off a little. Be it Zeigler telling Coangelo that it would be a snowball's chance in hell that the NHL would expand to AZ, so he build a basketball specific arena which opens 4 years before the Jets arrive. Or them missing out on an old mall location in Scottsdale, to taking that Glendale deal, to Sarver getting the boot from the NBA after the renovation to the Footprint Arena is completed, keeping it a basketball specific arena. And we have that referendum or vote last year in Tempe.

Even best case scenario of something coming together this year, it would take over 4.5 seasons in Mullet before a new arena is ready for them. Chargers played in the LA Galaxy stadium for 3 seasons but at least Sofi was under construction at the time.

No idea, I use espn+ now so I don’t get force fed that bullshit.

I think I am only aware of how annoying the Oilers are because we play them so damn much and they always appear sore winners and losers and pp merchants that rely on getting calls by being whiny as f***.

Big night in Edmonton...Kings can overtake the Oilers with a win. Closed down the 6 point gap in the last 10 games.
their fanbase got big heads about catching up to Vancouver during that massive win streak and now they're in danger of being kicked down to a wildcard spot

Vancouver - Edmonton in round 1 is back on the menu?????

They couldn't even accomplish that!

When Feb ends, Edm still has 5 games in hand. And need to play those extra games in the remaining 49 days in March/April, so like 25 games in 49 days.

It seems like the clock has struck midnight, and the Oilers goaltending has turned into a pumpkin again.
It's not just the goaltending. See the game against the flames. Ya it would be nice to see your goaltender stop some great chances but it was the guys in front of him making the mistakes. It's not just goaltending with them and it rarely is. A bunch of other guys turned into pumpkins again...Nurse, Bouchard in the defensive end, McDavid and Draisatl defensively. Essentially they got a new coach bump and then maybe decided like with every other coach that playing both sides of the puck isn't for them. Or it's just a blip. Time will tell.

Part of it is consistent with getting them rattled.. kane nurse and bouchard loae their focus when the game gets nasty.. they turn into idiots

Kadri did kadri things and it worked

Great to see Patrick Kane in Chicago, and a great performance he put on.

Regardless of what teams other players play for, some guys are just an absolute treat to watch..This guy is a wizard with the puck.

Anybody that just admires hockey in its purest form (like watching Quinn Hughes)..Has to admire Kane..a remarkable player.
i can admit he is a remarkable player without admiring him. see marchand, brad.

i believe that team is shook if mcdavid is shook. the job description to be an oiler is help mcdavid when he is on the ice and hold the fort when he is not. if he is not going but is on the ice the team is not sure how to play around him and the offence dies. hyman, draisaitl and rnh are the only guys who step out of that mold from time to time and drive play themselves, but this year hyman is the only one doing it regularly.

I'd argue that most of the Oilers problems would be manageable if they were getting consistent, respectable goaltending.

It was the same shit when the Canucks had Cloutier and the WCE. A talented group of offense, with some players who would zonk out (eg, Bertuzzi, Jovo, Cloutier himself) when shit got heavy.

There was always that anxiety watching those games, and I can't help but think it was felt by the players, too, and it got infectious.

They'd still have to deal with McDavid being a sullen baby (kind of like how we're dealing with the mercurial EP) and his sulks, but having a goalie who can hold the fort and let the team get themselves back together is immensely valuable.

Maybe Skinner is that guy, but I'm skeptical.

McDavid can win any single round by himself and the Oilers goaltending can hold out as average-enough to win in brief spurts if McDavid is dominating ....

.... but winning one round singlehandedly is one thing and it's extremely difficult to envision McDavid doing it 4 rounds in a row AND having that defense/goaltending hold up for 4 separate rounds as well.

Oilers don't have the horses and their management is nowhere near good enough to find them.

They're pushing mcdrai out the door, both look depressed/tired/frustrated/exasperated alot of the time.

I can't wait to see where Draisaitl goes, and watching mcdavid with real linemates is going to be incredible as well.

The dream scenario would be for LA and the Oilers to take the 2-3 spot, forcing Vegas to cross over to the Central Division where Winnipeg, Colorado, Dallas, and Vegas would have to kill each other to make the Conference finals

Flyers fan here. The Canucks look really good. Are there any deadline deals with Philly that might help put your team over the top? What do you believe you need to add?

Like very playoff team, Canucks are looking at add bottom-6 grit and toughness and some defensive depth. So, like everyone else, Seeler and Walker are of interest. Canucks would probably like Scott Laughton but I think the asking price is going to be greater than his production or on-ice impact.

Philly is also holding down a PO and has a little gap between them and the non PO teams now. Not a contender but don’t see the need to make any moves that weaken the roster as I don’t think they have any key ufas to be.

I'm responding to a Flyers fan asking if there's anyone on their roster that the Canucks may look to acquire.
