He pretends to hate the Canucks but literally watches every game and posts every time the Canucks score. Super obsessed with the Canucks.
Going to be so fun to read after this game when we win and they get blown up

Oilers demonstrating that while one can get into the race after digging a big hole you then also have to perform at least as well as the other teams after you catch up. It’s not a simple task. They are likely OK but they can find themselves right back into a wildcard fight with another week or so of poor play.

“You make a deal for Lindholm and bring back (Andrei) Kuzmenko, you’re trying to rebuild on the fly,” said Conroy of an addition that has also excited the local fans.

“We’ve added some assets.

“You’re rebuilding, but you want to be competitive and a good team because that’s how the Zarys, and the Pospisils, and all the young guys become better, in my mind.

“You’re doing this retool on the fly and that’s how we’re going to become better.”

Sounds a bit like Linden.

Sounds like someone who wants to turn it around in a hurry.

Blues are rolling. Looking like the most likely matchup for Canucks in RD 1

I'm sure Allvin has an idea of what he's after at the trade deadline.....but seriously, looking at this team right now, it's hard to pinpoint exactly what they might need.

With two of their 'big boys' out of the lineup, Joshua and Soucy, they're still finding ways to win. But let's face it--no matter what happens the rest of the way, acquiring Zadorov and Lindholm for assets they could clearly afford to give up, makes Allvin the NHL's GM of the year imo.

I mean there are some teams in the East, including Boston and TO, that were clearly stunned. They must be wondering how a cap-strapped team like the Canucks managed to pull it off.

It only took a few games for Calgary to get Kuz from his happy self to looking like he hates his life after scoring a goal. Sad

Chicago has lost Hayes, a 1st rounder to the NCAA UFA. As well as Sweatt. But, you just don't expect the likes of NYR, Bos, Chi, Phi, to have players not want to play there.

There are different considerations though. Hayes looked rather ordinary until his senior year. It also didn't involve players that clearly didn't want to sign with Chiacgo. Obviously, Chicago's inability (at the time) to offer much opportunity to make the team probably had a lot to do with those players not signing as well. I believe Sweatt didn't sign in Chicago cause the Blackhawks didn't have the cap space to offer him the type of performance bonuses he was seeking.

Hayes's was probably just considering his options at that point and signed a contract with max bonsuses (as if he was a #1 overall pick). Chicago's offer likely didn't match New York's and I don't think Chicago ever came out and said that they offered him the max

Same would go for the nice weather places like LA, SJ, Ana, TB, and now LV. Thrun, a Dman from Ana, opted to go sign with SJ instead.

Cal and Car both had to move Fox when he made it clear he wouldn't sign with them. So, once teams get wind of that, they cut their loses and maximum what they can get. Not pulling a Burkie with Umberger or being naive like Nashville was with Vesey. Make the call early rather than hope they sign.

Agreed. It does seem players are now more up front with teams although I'm not sure if Gauthier's backlash would make players think twice again. There's obviously a difference between a top 10 pick that teams envision the player only staying for 1-2 years in college and a later pick who looked ordinary in their first two years of college.
