Oilers will never get out of their own zone in that case.
Im sure their players can skate the puck out and skate into the offensive zone as well , not dump and chase and rinse repeat.

I don't think Lucic did anything special in front of the net, hell, Williams was better at generating goals from that area when he was with the Kings.
I dont see anyone going to the net as well as Lucic did . I dont think you guys understand how many more gosls were scored due to this.
Losing Lucic immediately knocks 25 points off the Kings total from last season.
Start scouting the draft, we're going to be a 77 point team.
14-15: 218 GF, 2.66
15-16: 223 GF, 2.72
With the Kings scoring more goals in OT in 15-16 than in 14-15, they may have scored fewer "normal" goals this year.

The only thing that tells us is that we'd have a lot less goals scored if Lombardi didn't trade for Lucic.
I'd rather keep King at his price than overpay for Matt Martin. He'd be a good fit, don't get me wrong, just not worth the price that he's going to get. Let some other team pay for him.

One scout on Matt Martin: "He’s big, he’s a lot more skilled than people think he is. He's an unbelievable team guy."

Get ready for Matt Martin to do really well in free agency. He's going to get paid more than people might think.
And not a surprise but the Kings among them...

Hearing DET, TOR, MTL, BOS, LAK, CGY among the teams that have reached out to Matt Martin. #Isles
At this point id rather have Brodzinski playing 3rd line right wing rather than Lewis or any other scrub we have in the bottom 6, if Brown is going to be playing on the top line from the looks of it. Players have been promoted with far inferior or similar numbers to that of Brodzinski and have performed great. Let them just go full youth movement.

With that bottom 6 we will not score any goals nor keep up with the pace. Which will basically shut down our top 6 lines and we will lose bunch of games scoring 2-1 and wear our players down tired playing heavy defensive system.
Kempe & Brodzinski are not ready. Do you really want to mess up their development by rushing them into the lineup?

Brodzinski is a real real long shot to ever make the NHL, and certainly not this year.
