I dont see anyone going to the net as well as Lucic did . I dont think you guys understand how many more gosls were scored due to this.

15-16: 223 GF, 2.72

With the Kings scoring more goals in OT in 15-16 than in 14-15, they may have scored fewer "normal" goals this year.

A lot will rest on Brown and Gabby showing up. That scares me.

Pearson also needs to take another step forward.

It's not so much that they are a bad team, just other teams are adjusting. That top three in the Pacific is going to be really tough to get into.

Based on the standings from the last few years, the Kings are now a bottom 5 team?

The only thing that tells us is that we'd have a lot less goals scored if Lombardi didn't trade for Lucic.

Maybe, if nobody else did anything. If nobody else was brought in. If Gaborik was healthy last year, then the Kings probably score a bunch more goals. If Gaborik is healthy next year, and Pearson improves, then that chips away at the goal total. If Pearson had played a full year in 14-15, that's probably more goals that year.

It might depend on what they could get for King, if they could get a 2nd (they seem to be placing a premium on draft picks going forward, based on quotes from the draft), and they aren't going to get Eriksson/Okposo/Ladd, then maybe they are willing to spend more if it means coming out of it with extra assets for King and/or Clifford.

Leads the league in hits and is great in the community? Sounds a lot like a former captain of this team.

At this point id rather have Brodzinski playing 3rd line right wing rather than Lewis or any other scrub we have in the bottom 6, if Brown is going to be playing on the top line from the looks of it. Players have been promoted with far inferior or similar numbers to that of Brodzinski and have performed great. Let them just go full youth movement.

They have spent more time in the AHL than Yakupov and Pajarvi. Not saying they are ready, but that is what I think of as rushed.

Brodzinskis numbers are actually very similar both in college and AHL to many other successful NHLers. Brodzinski is my dark horse to being a quality top 9 winger for us . I think even if he was put in this yesr he would be better suited for us than Clifford and King .

Not sure if this is representative of all King's fans.. But if so, LA fans must be some of the most shortsighted and impatient fans in the league. Been reading plenty of DL bashing in the threads. Things haven't worked out the past 2 seasons, but the reasons are plenty and hardly to be centered on incompetent management.

2 Cups! Sure, DL had some help (DT, AM, etc..), but what GM in the history of the hockey has ever been solely responsible for building/causing a team a to win on individual basis alone? That's just not how management works. I always appreciated DT quite a bit, and thought his moves were consistently overlooked (Straka.. Anson Carter.. LAPD..). But DL came in and made the impact changes (personnel and culture) that put the team over the top.

Stuff like retaining Justin Williams being a better move than Lucic is ridiculous and doesn't win Cups. Calculated, but impact driven moves do. Not all the moves worked.. and the assets lost hurts.. but that's the price of playing for the Cup.. though never guaranteeing the Cup.
