competition for ice time needs to have buy in from the coaching staff too. Something not many here thing Sutter is capable of doing fairly. Some feel he has his favorites and that is that. However I think if the 04 flames where the players who preformed saw the ice. Sutter can coach this way, and I imagine he is on the same page.

He said he wanted to stay on the East Coast and playing time was a factor. But I didn't have the Rangers as the winner.

By last count there were 13 ufa\rfa types on World Cup rosters. Insurance to be provided by NHL\NHLPA plus some players will elect to top up
I wonder how much that will be? As the article below (insurance and 2018 Olympics) it's quite costly, (as noted that Taveres tore up his knee and was out the rest of the year) and that might be a factor in the NHL deciding not to allow players to go in 2018.

If the Ranger fans think he's going to be some kind of saviour, they'll be really disappointed. The media hype around this guy was so big, you'd think he's the next Crosby. He'll be a 15-20 goal guy a year type player, nothing more.
