Yup and for all the hate he got, Kessel did show up in the playoffs. Both for the Leafs and the Pens.

Yep, Kessel burned the Bruins in game 7 offensively, as much as it was a pain for him to play against Chara...but hey, Danault is so freakin' awesome that he and his line completely shutdown Matthews and Marner...you would think that Danault is Bergeron in his prime...what a disgrace...but at least they could go back to their millions that they tuck in their mattresses...:sarcasm:

This really puts it into context. These guys really pissed away a golden opportunity. No pun intended.

The most disturbing part this time around is the top guys like Matthews and Marner didn't even show up for game 7...yeah, you let the Habs back into the series...but it's a winner take all situation...just grab the bull by the horns... it was still a tremendous opportunity to win the series at home, playing in front of some fans...that bugs me the most...to not show up for game 7...you would think the series was over after game 6 for some of these guys!

If these playoffs have taught us anything it's two things at least.
1) We are not anywhere near a championship caliber team (especially compete level).
2) How did we become so slow the last couple of years?
We were deadly with speed, speed and speed. The reason we can't enter the offensive zone is because our plays and their development are too slow. That goes double for the PP. Slow motion!
When we had AJ and Kap we were considerably quicker. Not advocating getting them back,,just saying.
Next year, we have a lot of work to do, Jumbo and Simmonds have to be shown the door along with a couple of others. Unfortunately we will not be better.......too many things need fixing. Please don't trade the 1ST rounder cause it will be a high one.

Speed and pace are our biggest issue right now IMO. Puck possession can be quick, but we're standing still waiting for openings too often.

JT, God love him is another turtle. Sandin doesn't look fleet of foot either for someone we are counting on heavily in the future.

I am ashamed that I thought this team was a Stanley Cup contender. Look at a real Stanley Cup contender like TB and how fairly easily they dispatched of another really good team. We are nowhere near that level. Not even close.

TB advanced to their 5th semi final in 7 seasons. Enough said.
