I wonder how habs will look in the next round. I think the series will be much closer than most people predict because of price.

But definitely cheering for knights/avs next round against the habs!!

Leafs should have easily beat the Habs and Jets. Not gonna get this kind of path to the final four again.
even ignoring the easy opposition, imagine the emotional boost it would have been to the team to finally win a round and get Tavares back and start playing in front of fans again all around the same time. All it would've taken is beating the 18th best team in the league one out of three tries and the Leafs would've been perfectly set up for a long run, but I guess what happened was good enough to satisfy Dubas

Wow Mtl proving everybody wrong. Congrats to them. Jets are done. Who expected this. Wpg should have been better prepared. They had all that time off but I guess they figured mtl would be another oiler series.

It would have been sweet to slay the dragon of 1st round exists in this manner.

In back to back seasons, Montreal has had the lowest point total of all playoff teams and this year they had 59, they were also 18th in goals against, and 17th in goals for. Acting like they're some how a great team because you want to feel better about yourself, is not my problem but its delusional. Montreal will not survive 4-6 games vs Boston, Florida and Tampa next year. They aren't better than The Panthers, Hurricanes, Islanders, Flyers , Penguins or even the Rangers, whom they have to fight for a wild card spot because they certainly aren't getting one of the guaranteed top 3 spots over Boston, Toronto ,Florida or Tampa. And when they inevitably miss the playoffs next season, they'll miss their chance to trade pieces that will help them build for the future, so they'll be in perpetual no mans land of not being good enough to make the playoffs, but not bad enough to land a superstar draft pick, like the Leafs were with the Burke and Nonis era.

Maybe. But right now they are having a run, most likely two rounds. Maybe more. Their fans are loving this.

Even if they don't get past the third round, that's as far as I've ever seen the Leafs get in my 30+ years as a fan and memories of those runs sustain me to this day.

Yes, definitely sire. It was pretty close too.... we just didn't have the killer instict, nore the good players enough.

We would have had a REAL BOOST during the second round............ You got it right milord.

Best part is how cocky Jets fans were while the Habs/Leafs were still playing. Now they're about to watch their team get swept.

The most disappointed game was game 7...to not even show up in your own barn and play like it was the end of the world was unacceptable.
