Around the League- Season is almost here

There's only one Reclamation Project and he certainly won't do Stan any favors. I'm holding out for more money.

that's what i'm thinking too

i'm thinking we're getting a bounce back season from Quick, Kopitar, and Brown

a rested Doughty

a full year of Pearson should benefit us tremendously

Toffoli will only progress

hoping that McNabb progresses as well

and a UFA Lucic and Ehrhoff with something to prove

there's so many pluses

but at the same time, everything is so fragile (still not liking that defence though)

so anxious to get the season started!!
 
Mitch Marner was cut by the Leafs, so he must be a bust...

Setoguchi and Glencross were also released from their tryouts. Setoguchi will now be remembered as another bust taken ahead of Kopitar in 2005.

If the Kings don't right the ship this season, I think they're done. They're talking a lot of game this off-season, but they better deliver.

If this franchise was ever going to have a year where they can shut up everyone who's running their mouths about its fiasco from the previous year, 2015-2016 is the time to do it.

Reddit's got nothing on the ****tiness of Gawker.

Kings don't really have a solid 3C (unless Lewis breaks out), but neither do a lot of other teams. Some don't even have a good 2C like Carter.

further proof i'm old as dirt at 49, because other than Reddit I've never heard of any of those sites.

just like most music today. i ask my wife all the time "who the hell is that"?

Exactly.Most teams play a true 3rd C at 2. Hell, the Blues play Backes as a number 1.:laugh:
 
I truly have no idea what to expect from this team this year. Some positives, sure, but a lot of negatives, too.

To be completely honest, I think 2014 was our last championship for some time. I don't see anything on the roster this year which suggests championship team. Our bottom six is a wasteland, and look how beer league the defense looks with only a couple injuries.

Think it's going to be a long year and this team will struggle to score. We'll battle for a low seed, as usual.

I think we have one more in the tank. Just need to find the right line combos with Sutter. :D

I think the bottom six will surprise a lot of people. I expect it to be very impressive.

The same could be said for any defense. No defense in the NHL can handle a couple injuries. The defense will be fine and very few teams can handle injuries on the back end like the Kings. The bottom four wasn't very impressive last year and it was still a top five unit.

All of that being said, I'm expecting very little to nothing from this team after last season. All the typical **** will happen - Kopitar will disappear for three months, Brown will work his ass off with zero results, the second line will do all the heavy lifting, Lewis will fan on every shot he takes, Doughty will play 45 minutes a night, the offense will be a ****ing train wreck, they'll play like **** against easily beatable teams and backups, and they'll still be fighting for a playoff spot during the final five games (if they aren't already eliminated).

I couldn't have said it any better. Took the words right out of my mouth. I want to be positive but man my biggest concern is our defense. sheesh.
