Well, that certainly doesn't look great for the accuser nor does mom making up some cuckoo story about an evidence bag. If something did happen to the accuser and the mom did that, shame on her. Shame on her anyway.
I'm curious what people around here think about women who wrongly accuse men of rape and what consequences there should be? I'm not suggesting that is the case here but it does happen and I'm not sure anything ever happens from it. I'm guessing at the very least that is because it can be hard to prove.
There was a story in the news a few years ago about a good high school football player who was accused of and later convicted of rape. This guy was going to be recruited to a top NCAA school and probably and NHL draftee. Well, he serves five years in jail but inevitably get out and the girl who accused of him rape confesses to him that she made the whole thing up. He recorded the whole thing. The guy is exonerated and the woman, who was given a $1M settlement, got sued by the school district for the money but never was tried or convicted of anything. She completely ruined this guys life.

I absolutely think Kane should rot in jail if he did something. But if it becomes pretty clear that the allegations are exaggerated or made up entirely, he ought to sue her and her parents for every penny they have. I know that won't make him look any better but he'll never repair the damage that has been done to his name.
