There is also a lot of speculation out there that Rutherford was looking to trade Letang and ownership stepped in. That’s what led to him leaving Pittsburgh. There is also similar speculation that Hextall and Burke wanted to do the same last season with Letang and Malkin.

Looks like FSG ownership is calling the shots and they also love and support Sullivan too. He has a 3 year extension that kicks in next season too.

Preds is one of those teams you don't want to face in the 1st round. Got a goalie that can steal a series, Saros. Got a 1D who can play and dominate for 30mins of the game, Josi. Got a 1C who knows how to play and score in the playoffs, ROR.

Just took a peek at the standings...

Doesn't look like anyone wants that last Eastern playoff spot. I doubt it plays out this way, but wouldn't it be something if somehow Tampa missed?

Islanders are on a good run, and look to be one of the favs for that spot.
