Sounds like the Wilds' coach did not know about this rule, otherwise he wouldn't have pulled the goalie in OT...this would be a move with a couple of games left in the season and you need all the points to make the playoffs. He was lucky it worked out, otherwise it would be a total embarrassment.
In fairness, the odds of scoring in OT with the man advantage seem rather decent (although the odds of conceding on the empty net likely aren't too shabby either). I can understand the allure of getting the two points when the team is in of need them. Of course, that single point is also going to look good too if/when the reality ends up being no points at all.

6 games and 8 games if it wasn't a first time offender like those thugs Matthews and Reilly

Even the hit would be late and worthy of suspension. Head contact? Extra suspension. He missed a dirty hit, but got him with an elbow. The player is injured. Concussions have long-lasting effects.

On the other hand, not Leaf. So I'm thinking $5K fine and a harsh warning .

I’m not down for this burgeoning multi-team expansion the NHL seems to be barrelling towards. Atlanta again? Salt Lake City? The talent in this league is already diluted enough. We don’t need to spread it out amongst likely 4 more franchises.

32 - great round number, why f*ck it up? 16 playoff teams, 1 Cup winner.

Scratch Arizona and Sens.

Or cut economically weak (again looking at these two champs). Unless we'll see 64 teams, keep it at 32 please. Thanks.

Another thing. So many fail-franchises rely on revenue sharing. How can the NHL consider adding franchises when so many teams can’t even break even right now.

Building a Brand and Business doesn't necessarily equal a halt of progression when not all branches are profitable. Most usually put in more, to show "growth" and spin which does have an effect to boost income streams and revenue. NHL as a whole has been profitable but it is also painfully behind the times compared to the other Major Sports, so it still has enough assets and funding for potential franchise investors.

Man, Detroit is just finding a way to completely collapse now. Losers of the last 5 in a row, and down 4-1 in the first period, with 4:31 left.... to the Sabres.
Insane how they are keeping other teams alive.

I guess Larkin really is the leader there because they have been very bad after he went down.

I found this on Reddit:
