Around the League - PLAYOFFS!?

Apparently if Wild had instead gotten scored on they would have got zero points. I wasn't aware of that rule. And after learning of that rule this is even more crazy

A point is a point...except when it isn't a point???

I suppose that it's a high-risk, high-reward scenario which can make a coach look really good or really bad.

The last time a team pulled their goalie during OT and scored was LAK vs BOS Oct 28th 2017.

LOL Bruins

You need to stay within one, when you pull out your goalie, they will concede a goal !

From all the rumours it seems goalie market is going to be intersting in the off season

- Apparently Connor Hellebuyck wants out :dunno:
- Jacob Markström (Flames owner is a cheap moron and Markstrom has signigng bonuses starting next July 1st)
- Swayman or Ullmark I think one of them is gonna go
- Saros (if preds are gonna go the rebuild route he may be available)

Should be interesting
I dont think we'll see Helly going out tbh. He seems very loyal and wants to go all in with his team. The others...yea it will be interesting.

Canucks had their starter for 49 out of 66 games.
Leafs had their starter for 30 out of 64 games.

Canucks will be fine...

Edmonton has 3 games in hand though, 10 points back .. DeSmith is sporting a 0.898 SV%

A mini slump could see the Oilers catch them

Rempe gets tossed before they give him and MacDermid a chance to go. I'm pretty sure that was the only point to Jersey acquiring MacDermid.

Sandin with a offensive blue line give away, leading to a rush chance the other way…

Ovechkin just isn’t a good hockey player anymore. He still has his shot, but just slow and plodding.

Sounds like the Wilds' coach did not know about this rule, otherwise he wouldn't have pulled the goalie in OT...this would be a move with a couple of games left in the season and you need all the points to make the playoffs. He was lucky it worked out, otherwise it would be a total embarrassment.

Well they were 10 points back of Nashville, 7 from Vegas for the final two playoff spots.. Not many games left to start making up that difference so I think the chance was justified against the team they are chasing.

yea think that was on that face off they drew it back and Toffoli sniped with like barely anytime on the clock that was crazy

Some goals just stick with you, and this one is near the top for me. Hard to believe it was over 6 years ago...

He was aware, given his post-game scrum. Wild entered the game with <10% chance of making the playoffs, so it was full on "Hanta Yo, Baby!" for them. Now it's in double digits at least lol
