They finally did it. Wow. Jarmo was living off his 9th life.

The timing is so weird. 3 weeks before the deadline, as if he had any sort of time to turn it around in the last 2 months.

Jarmo kinda reminds me of a very poor man’s Massai and that 2019 team was his championship winner. Seemed to have a program with a good identity but hit some bumpy patches, lost so many key players and the whole thing unraveled.

Even when you look at all the individual pieces on CBJ, it’s just an incredible collection of stuff, but good luck turning that into a team.

Nothing he did reminded me of Massai in any shape or form.

He hired some terrible coaches over the years and made some awful free agent signing/trade decisions. Jarmo survived the Babcock debacle... It's insane.

Not everything was bad while he was there like signing Gaudreau and dumping Jones at the right time among the better things he did. They've been able to draft pretty well over the last few years --- but any decent GM can do that when you're drafting high almost every season and with a lot of picks because you're terrible. But even with that said, their development of said high draft picks has been bad as well.

Well there was the whole Tortorella era when they had their big blueline in front of Bobrovsky, Panarin up front and they were a menace to play against in that pack mentality style. They seemed to have weathered some minor crisis of guys like Ryan Johansen wanting out, even went into buyer mode with Duchene and looked relatively healthy for CBJ. For a time they looked like a solid underdog machine.

It's a weird lineup looking forward.. exactly what do you do with this group, to turn things around? They aren't really built to go full rebuild mode, though you might think it would be the right thing to do. Normally you move on from the 30+ group, and build from there... but Jenner is their heart and soul, you've got Gaudreau, Severson and Kuraly. At minimum you'd want to start with the D logjam, and make some moves there, and then make some decisions on how to proceed.

Yeah it’s like they have half a full rebuild with a good compliment of young talent taken high in the draft, and then a log jam of veterans from a pre-rebuild.

Doesn’t seem like they really need more bluechip prospects thrown into the mix since the development side doesn’t appear strong. But they also shouldn’t be keeping their vets since they’re stuck in neutral with them. But they also need good vets to help mentor the underachieving kids…

And they have too much D. What a weird junk heap.

Ulmark just a fine for high sticking someone in the face.

So you have to be in charge of your stick at all times.

So that includes putting between someone's legs and doing the can-opener into the end boards?

Unless you are a Bruin.

I think they have some very good assets there.
They are not an old team.

With some astute moves they can turn that around.

They have to do something with Gaudreau.

Perhaps not, but Lamoriello and Roy old school.

Players will just have to suck it, Lou won't care as long as they are obedient towards his archaic era.
Today’s players lack character, no one is willing to enbrace the suck anymore……..
