Just heard Briere. Said kid told him he wanted to be a flyer at the draft, then two months later said he changed his mind and has not spoken to them. since. Strange.
 
Anaheim must be really bullish on Gauthier to add what's likely a high 2nd to Drysdale who has done well early in his career. Odd value. Maybe there was a bidding war though.

Still with McTavish, Zegras, and Carlsson up front. As well as Terry, it seems like a luxury move. Their defense looks pretty bare. They have Mintyukov in the NHL right now, and a few 2nd round pick d-man on the farm, but that's it.

Phili did really well to get quality back for a player that didn't want to play for them.

TBH if Gauthier was available I think that's the kind of player the Leafs could have shuffled the core around and tried to get back in a bigger deal. Oh well.

Seems like Anaheim dealt from a position of strength with guys like Mintyukov and Zellweger on D, Luneau and Warren coming up too. They've got a pretty good group of forwards there with Carlsson, McTavish, Gauthier. Not a fan of Zegras.

Zellweger is essentially the same type of player as Drysdale. They clearly view him highly, and Drysdale has had injurie concerns all of last season and so far this season, plus held out into camp. Theres no way they were going to run both Drysdale and Zellweger in a line up together. They are really lacking on young high end wingers, so they were able to address that with this trade.

How could the ref with an unobstructed view waive that goal off.
Helpful hint: when the goalie fishing the puck out slams his stick on the ice, that’s a strong indicator you’re wrong.

It will be 6 points back after tonight with a game in hand. Florida is on a nice streak, but they will lose a few in a row at some point. By the end of the season, I expect those top 3 to be pretty close to another, but with Toronto ending up in first place and the Panthers and the Bruins getting a rematch.

Was think if this league awarded 3 points for a regulation win (which I hope they will do one day), the Bruins would be 16 points up on the Leafs.
