It's been a really weird year for the league. Feels like a lot of previous powerhouse teams have fallen off, and there's no clear favourite. There's teams like the Jets, Canucks or Red Wings that have randomly been overperforming, and a handful of other teams that are really good but still not 'dominant' necessarily (Vegas, Avs, Bruins, Rangers come to mind).

Even point leaders, Kucherov, JT Miller, Pastrnak, Panarin and Reinhart are your top 5 lol. I'm sure McDavid will surpass them all soon, but still just odd to see. Then there's goals where you see Kucherov, Boeser, Matthews, Connor and Reinhart. Again only Matthews is someone who you'd expect on that list...

Wonder if we'll see a regression with the usual teams and players or things continue to shift like this.

As someone who appreciated Kyles departure, his rule has lasting effects in basically every area - so you have to give him credit from time to time.

Dubas' vote of confidence is the same thing as spotlighting Sullivan to start walking the gangplank. If the Pens stay on this trajectory for a bit he'll be fired and the GM will frame it as regrettable, etc. while further putting his stamp on the team (good or bad I'll leave up for others to decide).
