God Kucherov is such an unlikeable turd  low key one of the biggest scumbags in the league

Tried to hit and run but Pageau wouldn't let him get away after that dirty ass slash

Yeah, TB went into full a-hole mode after the empty net goal. That team is full of dirty wannabe tough guys.

i'd like to see bullshit like that kucherov slash get a game

like how many penalties did he commit in a span of 5 seconds there? he's literally just trying to injure with the slash. the "it's just a slash" argument kinda goes out the window after 4 hooks and a crosscheck after the goal. f***in sore loser.

I'm really starting to feel bad for sabres fans. There was a report that the sabres are considering an internal cap in the low $70s million. Don't think playoffs are happening yet again.

Eichel... Elite player. Imagine spending his entire prime not making the playoffs.

n an effort to trim their salary cap, the Penguins traded forward Nick Bjugstad to the Minnesota Wild on Friday night.

The Penguins will receive a conditional pick in the 2021 draft in exchange for the 28-year-old Bjugstad

Also, some head coaches on their final year. Wonder if teams trimming salaries/expenses will affect that.

That's roughly $25m to spend on 12 or 13 players to fill out the roster from where they sit right now.

As you indicated, they are all RFAs. The Islanders aren't losing any of these guys. They will make adjustments in other parts of their roster. They will be back. They can afford to trade one of their 30-something forwards not named Bailey or or Lee.

Speaking of their RFAs, Pulock and Toews are good players, but they aren't going to break the bank.

Being able to afford something, and being able to do it, are two different things. All their 30-something forwards that might be worth something have 3, 4, 5 years left on their deals. It's the same issue the Kings have had.

yeah. buffalo with only 4 forwards signed. ouch.

The bigger problem is that Skinner and Okposo are 2 of them.

He's going to be 35 in 5 days. Likely 36 by that time that contract starts. He'll be the oldest player with an 8 digit cap hit.

They're likely done as a sure thing contender, maybe they get 1 more year, but teams pay their winners. Holtby had a career worst season at the worst possible time. Best possible for the Caps though.

I disagree, if you look at the age of the Islander players' contracts when they expire, the cap hit, and the ability of the team to compete, they don't have the same issues with which the Kings are saddled.

The NYI biggest problem is they are currently in the toughest division in the NHL.

Bergevin probably will get him signed.

Canes get a pick (they lost in the Faulk trade) for a player that was not staying. He was good in Carolina and it gives the Habs time to sign him, and options to move some pieces out. They have too many lefites, guessing Mete or Kulak will be odd man out. I think Edmundson will be a good partner for Petry. Good move by them.

Canes have too mnay d, Slavin, Pesce, Hamilton, Skjei, TVR, Fleury, Gardiner, Vatanen and Bean.
So this is just the first d to go. LeBrun said about a week ago or so, that the Canes are eyeing Laine and Trochek and of the d (Pesce, Skjei or Gardiner) would be included.
THey want to improve their offense, and have enough d to do that.

It's going to be tough for years, 4 of the teams are young and on the rise. JD will help the Rangers get back on track, the Canes and Jackets are already good, the Isles need a sniper, but I think Papa Lou will do what is needed. Caps and Pens are the teams with the down arrow, too many aging core pieces. Devils are too hard to figure out. As much as I wish Fletcher will do the right thing, his medicority in Minny has me thinking otherwise. Flyers were lucky their game picked up in Jan/Feb, and a streak at the same time the Canes lost a bucnch of key players and both goalies, and Jackets at one point in Feb had 10 skaters out hurt.
I think the Jackets will try to get a top 6 center if they can.

Yep, they’ll get rid of a couple of forwards and find a way to keep their second best dman.

They're gonna need to move more than a couple, they only have 10 forwards and 3 d signed. Five RFA's and 6 UFA's. Even if they let the UFA's walk, they don't have $$$ for the RFA's, and 8 of the Bolts have NMC's. And Cirelli and Sergachev are the top priority, but all those holes on d need to be addressed.

I know they have a couple of prospects in the pipeline who’ll soon be graduating to the NHL, notably Cal Foote and Mathieu Joseph.
