Mark Recchi has been hired by the Devils as an Assitant coach. Good pickup, a guy players will respcet, he's been in their boots. And he's a pretty good PP coach, the Pens were top 5 in the NHL on PP two of the three years he was the AC/PP there. Also had a good rep there, players liked him.

Apparently the Sabres are a better organization than the Avalanche, according to Corey Pronman.

Last year, he ranked Buffalo 18th. Now their organizational ranking is in the top 5. This is such a woeful list.

What a scumbag hit by Killorn, that's usually a Kucherov specialty, only get em when they can't see you and are totally defenseless.

Hell of a kill by TBL though

4 on 4 really highlighting the d-men's skating. Hedman shakes a checker, lugs the puck from his goal line into the offensive zone, where Pulock stops him up, picks his pass out of the air, and goes on a breakway himself with Hedman in hot pursuit!

You gotta admire how hard the NY Islanders work. They are set up for a nice run. No real salary cap issues on the horizon, nice mix of youth and experience, and nice balance throughout the entire lineup.

They will probably let Greiss and Greene go in the off season, then make a move to shore up their defense a bit.

Do the Kings really want to make a play for Killorn in the off season, as suggested by Lisa Dillman? I don't see it.

Chicago 2010 is usually considered the best post-cap era roster and the Kings 2014 roster was filthy top to bottom, but if TB can finish the deal I think you have to say it's them. And this with one of the best players in the league not even playing. Must be nice.

Almost find myself cheering for Tampa just so a good chunk of people can get over their phobia of their team using a mid-first round pick on a goalie.

Was annoyed last year when "When was the last time a first round goalie won a Cup" morphed to "When was the last time a first round goalie won a Cup for the team that drafted them" just to disqualify Tuukka Rask.

If you fail on a 5 min major, followed by a 5 on 3 in the 3rd [ which was embarrassing to watch] you deserve to lose like that. What a brutal last 20 seconds by the Islanders.

Lightning would've lost this game last year. Missing practically a whole line for the last period and still managing to pull out a win says something.

They were an aging team with a negative goal differential when the world closed down. They're currently riding career best playoff performances by a lot of 30-ish year olds. Barzal, Pulock, and Toews are all RFA's in a couple weeks, with $8m in space. This might be their best shot.

As you indicated, they are all RFAs. The Islanders aren't losing any of these guys. They will make adjustments in other parts of their roster. They will be back. They can afford to trade one of their 30-something forwards not named Bailey or or Lee.

Speaking of their RFAs, Pulock and Toews are good players, but they aren't going to break the bank.

Sean Couturier wins the Selke, well deserved. I am lucky enough to have seen almost all his games and he's one of the smartest players I've ever seen. Hoping AV recognizes he's the best center on the team and gives him something he's never had, speedy , elite wingers. He should be playing with Farabee and Konecky. Despite the revolving door at wing, since 2017-18, he's 3rd in the NHL in 5 on 5 scoring behind Mac D and McKinnon.

He blew them away with 1st place votes...

I have a new respect for Benn. The dude was driving Vegas nuts all over the ice and got under their skin . Scored a goal too.

Dallas had no business winning that game. VGK dominated possession and SOGs but Lehner let in a softie and Vegas couldn’t finish like usual so there you go.
