Where did you hear this?
I mean it was expected that Montreal had to move one or the other since both required waivers... but everything anyone ever spoke about Budaj is that he perfectly knows his role as a backup and is a pseudo-goalie coach for his team.

He has always had the perfect temperament for a backup goalie. Hard to believe that he'd initiate something like that. There it is though. Tokarski was better though. Not a hard choice.

Oh, that makes sense then yeah - jumping him with Tokarski with playoffs on the line basically said we have zero faith in you as a goalie.

I thought it was something during training camp this season. And I wouldn't call that a 'demand'.

Funny that all the media ever focused on with Spezza here was his faults, and now that he's in a new market everyone is ignoring them. They have a good team otherwise but I think they are not as good as the other West teams
