I like a lot of the Jets players. Connor, Schiefele, Ehlers, PLD, Morrissey all are great players, but they just cant make it click when they need to. Might be best to move on and recoup some assets while you can.

See, this is part of the reason I thought Boston would flame out in the playoffs. A lot of their important players are older.

Additionally, they were off the charts in GSAE this season, so there was bound to be regression.

Avs and Bruins struggling. Tampa injured and weaker. It's the Oilers cup to lose IMO.

I still think Vegas can take Edmonton. Hoping the Kings can do it first tho ;)

Vegas won’t play prevent. They can counter. They have a better defense. Goalies are a wash.

Minnesota has a deep and talented prospect pool to regroup with at least. I'm not worried about them long-term, but if they keep coming up short it'll get tougher to keep Kaprizov. He also probably wants an actual top 6 center to play with (no disrespect to JEE).

You love to see it.
Do you guys just think all players who play on the edge and can be cheap just deserve stuff like this? There are plenty around the league who play like that. I know many Sharks, Coyotes and Ducks fans would have felt the same way had DB’s career ended on a hit like this, so it’s a view held by many. Would you have agreed that DB’s career ending like this would have been justified based on some of the hits he threw in his career? I understand hitting people hard and settling scores. But “you love to see it” about a hit that could leave someone paralyzed seems a bit excessive.

And this is probably the end of the line for Cogliano’s career. He certainly played on the edge, threw some dangerous hits for sure. One of those guys you despised as an opponent and loved him on your own team, much like DB was.

Happy for him he was able to get his name on the cup last year. Hopefully this isn’t anything long-term. A fractured neck can have varying degrees of seriousness.

And the Avs now join what seems like every fanbase in the NHL that either the refs or the DOPS (or both) are “out to get” their teams. No one ever holds their own teams accountable. Boston gives up 7 goals last night and it’s the refs fault they lost. If Seattle wins Game 7, Avs fans will place no blame on their team and just blame the refs.

With that being said, I think that hit probably deserved some kind of supplemental discipline. Especially when you factor in the Makar one, and the result of this hit (fractured neck)
