The Make Believes

haha What? the Cubs finally breaking the curse? The hot garbage has been brewing since Karl Marx wrote his manifesto they had nothing to do with it.
Nah, that was just the product of a rapidly changing geopolitical enviornment with the first really widespread accessible media. Communism, mongol hordes, all the same. Somebody is always trying something.

But the Cubs were never supposed to win. That punched a hole in our truth.

True re the Cubs - having been lifelong fan, that night almost doesnt seem real... they were cursed.. And everyone actually believed it to be true. So maybe we are in a multiverse. Re Mongol hordes v Marx - they never pretended to be giving people Utopia - a bit more honest about their intentions.

Vegas with a pathetic game 1 performance. The arena was quiet as hell. But damn, ESPN get your shit together. Audio issues all night.

They've been having audio issues since last year.

The audio mix sucks too.

Getting the in arena / crowd levels right is a big part of what makes a broadcast feel vivid.

You watch the SportsNet broadcast and it feels like you're there. You get a sense for the atmosphere in the arena. The ESPN feed feels bush league in comparison.

Remind me what you are referring to?
A game some years ago when the clock seemed to slow down and speed up and if I recall correctly it slowed down towards the end of the game allowing the Kings to tie it. Lombardi had some weird scientific explanation about coulombs that I'm still not sure if it's made up horseshit or if he was serious.

Vegas got booed by their fans... impressed

That last powerplay in the third was absolutely brutal. Eichel made a beer league pass that exited the offensive zone without any pressure from a defender. No zone entry. Low movement when offensive pressure started.

Fans were rightly upset at that performance and any franchise would be booing the team with what was going on.

I loved every minute of it.

I.E.
I just watched the highlights, but the bowl seats were 75% empty by the end. Not a good look.

WPG was the better team almost completely from start to finish, there were precious few glimpses of hope.

I still would never leave a playoff game early but I can understand the hopelessness, there was never a sense of danger, it was incredible

Do not want to see a dialed-in Hellebuyck.

I vaguely remember this. coulombs - thats so DL to just chime in like the mad professor that he is/was. I do wonder if it was pure bs, partial bs, or truthy.
