The problem with Ottawa is they are about to be paying top dollar for a lot of guys who have yet to prove they can win

That and they are paying Chabot a lot to QB a PP right now, is one of these guys going to be dropped to PP2?

Another thing that is very obvious, teams are not trading top prospects

It’s like naming farm animals, makes it much tougher once you know who you are trading.

McDavid’s with a sour face as he accepts the Moulson Cup. Looks like he stepped in dog crap while checking the mailbox.

It’s about money. Arizona cleared 100% salary off the books. Ottawa won two games and suddenly a playoff seed could add a ton to their sale price.

When the Kings hit the golf course in late April, BLuc will point Dan Beckerman to the portion of the $1.7M saved by moving Quick plus 3-4 home games of playoff revenue. That does more to keep their jobs than some guy their boss literally never heard of.

Everyone thought Petersen killed the Chycrun deal. Looks more and more like it was Quick.

Well that $1.7m is cap savings. In dollars the Kings added $3m. Or whatever the equivalent is at this point of the season.

Dean paid Doughty and Kopitar big before they had won a playoff series.

He also traded a bunch of picks and prospects before winning a series. As well as missing on multiple 1st rd selections. The team wasn't even in a playoff spot in late Feb in their first contender year.

Ottawa has already done that with Stutzle, Tkachuk, Chabot, and will need to pay or move DeBrincat this offseason. . Like I said, this isn't one or two guys, they are about to be paying a lot of guys big money who haven't won yet

So the kings offer of both players, prospects and pick wasn't enough? All ARZ got was a 1st, and a couple of 2nds. No way OTT make the ECF to trigger the conditional 2nd. A full years of talk, asking for the moon. plus holding him out a month for futures. and no top prospects? The Sen will finish 20th this year or near the blackhole, so all they really got was a pick about 8-10 spots higher.

Well it's beyond obvious now, the Coyotes are broke, and it hurt their return for Chychrun. Insisting on not taking money back kneecapped them

The fact that ARZ is the boneyard of dead cap space contracts, and need these to make the floor, yet refuses to take money back to get to the floor is down right hilarious. Armstrong was so full of shit with his ask .

What is hilarious about the not taking money back, is since Blake was willing to move Quick, his money owed this year was only 2.5M. think we have about 20% of the season left so you're talking about 500K real money. Could spend a 4th to get half that retained. If you believe the not taking salary back excuse, AZ walked away for 250-500K. Not sure I believe that.

CBJ fell out because their first looks like it was top 5 & they aren't moving that.

No one was willing to give up a Clarke, Lysell, Broberg. Ott just out of the playoffs was the best asset available.

I have a feeling for all the talk of the vaulted east that the west could still be dangerous. EDM smoked Toronto last night. Vegas beat the canes.

Only one team comes out of the east. Still guessing it will be Boston.

We like to think the true Cup in 2014 was against Chi. While that's probably true, it's not like the Kings walked through the Rangers. It took 3 home OT games, all of which the Kings trailed in, and all of which could have easily been won by the Rangers. They hit as many posts or had as many if not more breakaways in those OT periods as the Kings. Could've been 4-1 Rangers, 4-2 or 4-3 Kings. That series was close, but the overwhelming story is the titanic match up between LA and Chi.

As they say, that's why you play the games. Everything is east, east, east. And yeah, 1 of those 6 actual good teams is likely to win, but that doesn't mean you don't show up.
