What an accomplishment for Quick. One of the best players around and my all time favorite. Also a great story. He can come back anytime now
I think going to the Rangers was a perfect situation. They have a good team and he can just sit and rack up wins behind Shesterkin.

Love it. Good for Quickie. Hopefully he keeps racking them up and gets that record as high as possible before hanging them up. When he does, I hope there isn't enough bad blood where the Kings can offer him a one day deal so he can retire a King, though that isn't Quick's style, would be a nice gesture to the fans though.

Jonathan Quick just became the NHL's winningest American-born goalie. Congrats Quickie.

So awesome!

Once Blake is gone, it will happen.

Filthy :thumbu:

A guy who was injured and very unimpressive his freshman year, what a shock that Chicago let him develop in an optimal and proven environment and now he probably makes their team next season after a complete 180 season as a sophomore, he was the best player on the ice tonight. It's almost like proven development paths actually work, who would have guessed.

Good thing he wasn't drafted by the Kings, he'd have been injured playing for the Reign and his confidence would be destroyed.

Absolutely glad he wasn't taken by LA.....

Of course, keep in mind that since 2015 they have drafted exactly 15 players that have gone and played College Hockey, and all but one....played more than a year.....man what kind of dirt did they have on that kid to make him say yes....

Such f***ing terrible takes.....

A very nice celebration and awarding of a platinum goalie stick (wow!) at madison square garden tonight for jonathan quick becoming the all time american born goalie wins leader.

His beautiful family shared in the celebration and our boy had his cheek packed so i guess he isnt starting!

Sidebar about the Wolverines. I wish they'd wear the yellow jerseys for every game. I absolutely love them. Have one in my closet actually from a former co-worker who went out there.

Vilardi, Faber, Walker, Durzi.

Only two players the Kings jettisoned have had bad seasons - Peterson and Kupari.

Iafallo is having an average season.

The others are playing great.

What’s-his-name for the Flyers got traded for a first. We traded him to get some relief for Cal P. He did pretty good this year too!

Overpay low, undersell high, it’s the BLuc expediency vision to ensure max sentimentality and bottom line mediocrity.

That's a small part of the trade. you are leaving out important parts

Walker and a 2026 fifth-round pick were sent to the Colorado Avalanche for a 2025 first-round pick (top 10 protected) and center Ryan Johansen,

Walker and a 5th were traded for a first an $8 mil cap hit(Johansen) which will end up being7.250 mil since they sent him down

So a first, minus a 5th, minus a large cap dump really equates to around a 4th or 5th IMO

Johansen was traded to Colorado with 50% retention so his cap hit was half that.

Ahh, thank you handsome. Forgot about that second part. They basically bought a first round pick there.

ok so that makes the return around a 3rd
Why? It seems like you are ignoring Walker getting paid 2.65 million for a cap difference of 1.35 million in the trade, with some buried when he was sent to the minors. It is still a first round pick. The value of the pick might move back a couple of spots, example 26th to 28th using current standings.

walker is a useful player. Johansen was immediately sent to the minors. So the Phlyers are eating 4 mil/3.25 cap hit

you are also leaving out that the Phlyers sent a 5th to colorado

It would be 4-1.xx ( how much is buried in the ahl) prorated over the remaining portion of the season, right? So say 2.9 x 1/4 = $725k cap space. Would adding a 5th round pick even get a team to move up a single spot in exchanging first round picks on draft day? That might be enough to move around in the 3rd or 4th round.

The contract also runs thru next season.

I really don't understand why you are arguing about something you clearly didn't research
