Kupari was never going to be a star, he has all the tool but could never use them all at the same time. He'll be a career 3rd/4th liner, nothing more. Valardi will always be a wildcard with his injury history and can't play the center position...they tried. He's been injured every year and can also be streaky. He's massively talented but carries a big risk. AI is AI, scores from time to time, then goes 20 games without a point, can kill penalties well.

Since they've been traded the Kings have scored MORE goals and have a top 5 pk. They are a plus 33 in goal dif too. They were a minus until the last week of the season last year. If PLD is still sucking in year 3, and Valardi has scored 120 goals and only missed 5 games, then I'll call the trade a bust.

When did the threshold for criticizing PLD go from 40 games to 3 years?

Exactly . PLD has a rookie and a complete enigma as his linemates. Valardi move onto the top line after the Conner injury with Scheifele and Ehlers. Massive difference, even with only one guy added.

8 points in his last 10 games.

Faber has 16 points in 31 games. As a comparison, Doughty had 27 in 81 as a rookie.

Jesus Christ fellas, the guy played here for a few years and you saw his name constantly, yet I have never seen a player - even a Finnish one - have his name so consistently misspelled in so many ways.

Vilardi. Its not difficult.

Its the equivalent of trading Drew Doughty for Ales Hemsky in 2008. But you had Jack Johnson and Alec Martinez, so its okay, because you REALLY need a ppg winger...

whats the analogy for PLD/Vilardi from the past
 
Your telling me the Kings would be a better team with Faber instead of Fiala?

Fiala who led the team in scoring and likely would have broke a hundred points had he not been injured.

This team would be losing 2-1 every game had Fiala not been acquired.

LA tied their point record last year and set a record to start this season.

The hate on this board lately has been palpable.

Kings have warts. Home record sucks. They are a capable team tho and are in the thick of it. All I see lately is PL sucks. Blake sucks. Ex kings rule. Yes you (Royal you) have every right to criticize and critique and be the smartest guy in the room, just been a funny year on here for a team that is actually pretty decent.

I've been a bi faber booster but no he was never seen as a Doughty level prospect. It would be the equivalent of dealing Martinez for a PPG winger, because you had other d-men in the pipe. Thank god that did not happen either though.

No I dont think anyone thinks they would be better right now or even in the next 2 years. Especially considering Faber would be a third pair dman here. But when Kopitar and Doughty are gone in what 3 years the right side would be stacked with Faber Clarke and Spence. If they lock up Englund long term the left is probably Anderson, Dvorak, Englund. Very solid defense.
The Fiala move was to win now and they hope to find success while hes in his prime.

And if we had Faber there would be no Spence up. Or Faber would be in Ontario.

I am not a Blake fan but he used his assets to get a good player and then signed that player to a good contract .
