I'd be tempted to trade Yurov for something depending how long Yurov is going to stay in the K.

I mean if it gets us another top 3 defenseman and a top 40 pick I wouldn't hesitate especially if Yurov signs for another 3+ years in the K

Who cares if either stays in the KHL for 3 years. You don’t trade prospects like Yurov. Certainly not for a dman. This team has enough dmen that deserve a shot. We don’t need to add another at the cost of our best forward prospect.

If Yurov signed a 3 year extension, he'd still start his NHL career at 23 years old (turns 24 a couple months later). I very much wouldn't like it, but I don't think that it's auto-trade territory.
Which defenseman has top 2/3 potential? Peart? O'Rourke and Hunt will be decent depth guys. I mean that's like saying we didn't need a center because we had Shaw, McBain, Dewar, and Kunin.
Yurov is doing fine in the K, but who knows if or when he'll come over. And if it's another Kaprizov situation...
Yeah it's not an auto trade but it's a let's see what kind of deal is out there.

But in this scenario, if he has no value to us because he's signed in the KHL, why would other teams be interested in him either?

I guess it all depends on what you think you should be accomplishing during those 3 years. If you think you're a top 3 defenseman away from Cup contention, then sure.

Even if you believe we're approaching our window right now, you're still looking at a situation where you trade a prospect immediately after their value goes down.
You don’t trade 1C potential for #2/3 potential. You could be trading a Kaprizov for a Brodin because you’re impatient.
