I'm much happier having Brodie here than Barrie
When they took Komarov, who did the heavy lifting, away from him, he tried to do it himself, and couldn't.Are you forgetting why he was traded?
He literally WAS SUSPENDED two straight years when we needed him most because he was too stupid to think clearly.

The question is whether or not Calgary can catch them
All true, but none of it negates what I said.Babcock benched Komarov in the first playoff series and then Dubas felt like he wasn't worth whatever he had to pay him, and he was 100% correct.
Kadri has always struggled to keep his emotions in check. Delivering a pair of dirty checks (one a hit and one a crosscheck) after your teammate barely gets hit into the boards is not standing up for your teammates. It's being stupid and reckless, and the Leafs had to pay the price for it twice.

Komarov did the bumping and return hits, without going overboard. If he had been with Kadri in those two situations, he would have responded, or not, without getting suspended, and probably without taking a penalty. Kadri would have left it for him, and would not have felt the need to do something.

Babcock did not elevate players; he misused them. Brodie was always Dubas' preferred target.Babcock elevated a lot of players games ... Dubas would have resigned him if he thought he played bad because of babcock coaching

Yup. Cue the usual characters bitching about contracts.I just noticed that Leon and Mcdavid have about 150 mins of powerplay time so far this season, that is just insane. Looking at the leafs, marner leads them with about 90 mins and is ranked 50th in powerplay minutes played. Matthews leads the leafs at 68th when looking at per game instead of the totals, this is the only reason why they haven't hit 100+ points in a season and for them to do so will need a bump in powerplay time. This will probably also suggested that these two are a lot closer to the two Oilers stars then what I previously thought they were.
Kadri remains as the worse trade in at least 20 years of leafs history.Komarov was dressed in the game where Kadri got suspended the first time. Even played 16 minutes that game.
I think Komarov got hurt the next game though, and then when he was healthy, was just not put back in.
Still, Kadri did not leave it to Komarov, and he has had many other instances where he would take it upon himself and would get himself in trouble.
Lmao, that's not even remotely true.Kadri remains as the worse trade in at least 20 years of leafs history.

can you give an example of a worse trade?Lmao, that's not even remotely true.
Rask for Raycroft is an example of a bad trade. Kadri for Kerfoot + Barrie (50% retained) is a good trade, that turned out to be more just okay.can you give an example of a worse trade?

yea that turned out to be a bad one.... I would put kadri trade deal in 2nd ....Rask for Raycroft is an example of a bad trade. Kadri for Kerfoot + Barrie (50% retained) is a good trade, that turned out to be more just okay.
at time the Rask deal was in the leafs favor but turned out to bad because Rask becomes a HOF goalieHard to think of a worse one than this.
I always hated that 2011 draft trade up too. Was just throwing picks into the garbage heap
Wouldn't even make the top 10.I would put this Kadri trade deal in 2nd
1. No, it wasn't. Rask was one of the best goalie prospects in the world, and recent 1st round pick, and Raycroft was coming off an 0.879 SV% season.at time the Rask deal was in the leafs favor
Wouldn't even make the top 10.

2. "At the time", the Kadri trade was a massive Leaf win.
The deal was always bad, from the moment it was made.Rask was traded as a prospect, not an NHL player for starters, the deal went bad because Rask turned out to be elite over time
Toskala trade... Kessel trade... Leetch trade... Stempniak trade... etc.ok name a couple worse trades?
