This Vancouver series was all to reminiscent of the Blue Jackets series.

I hate to be so knee-jerk, but I lost a lot of faith I had built up over the season. It's so hard to keep the faith when we more or less lose if Mitch or Matthews isn't playing at a Hart level.

You lost faith, because we lost two games? Seriously? Every team loses games, most lose two games in a row at points. That's pretty normal.

You're not wrong, Fogel. It just reminded me how much this team relies on it's offence and when it goes cold or faces a hot goalie, we rarely win. I don't think our goalies can win those goalie duels.

5v5 we played well enough to win in both games, as has been par for the case under Keefe. I am very concerned about Andersen in the playoffs, though. Hope Campbell can get back healthy and go on a run.

I'm sure glad I renewed my NHL centre Ice package this year as getting my hockey fix from watching these USA teams above and beyond just the Leafs and that CDN division as it allows me to still follow and watch many of the star players of the NHL.

How much did that cost?

I paid around $240 for sports net for the year, but I hardly watch any other sports and it's a bummer when I don't everytime the Leafs play and I don't get the game. And I don't even get to watch games in other sports net channels.

I paid $169 this year for early sign-up and shortened season as well as being a long time subscriber.

Generally in a full season the price is $199 and Telus charges me 4 X $50 over the calendar year on my yearly plan.

I live in BC so most of the Leafs games are regional only broadcast and not available, as I only get to see the national ones and HNIC without my Centre Ice subscription but with it I get all 82 Leaf games.

With CI package I get to see hundreds of out of town games throughout the year not involving my Leafs.

Yeah but that goes for every team. If their best players aren't playing great, then teams don't win.

You can't say we relied on offense. If any team's offense goes silent along with bad goaltending, every team is in trouble.
This is being negative for no reason honestly

I guess I'll bookmark this and we will find out. I hope you're right. Personally, I think the team needs some moves so they can win games even when Matthews/Marner goes cold. When teams like Boston and Vegas stop getting offence from their top players, they get elite goaltending to keep them in games. Leafs traditionally can't rely on our goaltending to out play opposition goaltending.

I think the "negativity" is just being realistic in our chances for a Cup.

Seems like your problem is more with our goaltending in which I agree.

Yeah, I don't know if the refs or if Toronto had the ability to go frame by frame, but doing so you can see it's offside.
By the book, I think it's the right call, but having to go frame by frame is not the way the game should be called or ruled.
We always see frame by frame on goals and offside calls.

I understand we hate Boston, and with good reason, but let's not make ourselves look stupid.

Don't know if this was already posted or not. Just thought it was comical.

People say the North is an easy division but the Central division has Carolina, Florida, and an injury riddled Chicago in the 2-3-4 spots..

not exactly elite competition

Well people think Carolina and Florida are hot **** and better than us so...

Chicago is like a rebuilding team aren't they? They are just getting ridiculous goaltending from Lankinen and Patrick Kane is playing like an MVP. Also helps when the bottom 4 teams are a complete mess right now.

I definitely have some PTSD from Columbus aswell. It's incredibly frustrating to see us outplay teams and lose the goaltender battle, and the game.

I have serious questions about Andersen's ability to perform under pressure. He loses himself in the net positionally and doesn't see pucks nearly as well as he used to, IMO.

I have felt more comfortable with Campbell AND Hutch in net this season, which is concerning to say the least.

Andersen is a good goalie, sometimes, but you need your goalie to consistently perform in the playoffs and I don't know if he's the guy for that job. He is unable to forget the last goal against and it tends to snowball into swimming, more rebounds and poor decisions.

All of the leagues have subpar officiating but the NBA is by far the worst. We have premandated game management but the NBA lets superstars get away with so much that their games would suffer if they didn't get it.

I don't think we are on that level. Skill teams and players suffer and the slow, physical teams benefit, but it is far from as bad as the NBA IMO.

Personally I'd rather have a league that's biased towards stars rather than scrubs/depth guys.

Though ab ideal world would be proper and balanced reffing.

Carolina has gotten a lot of hype on paper over the last 2-3 years, but haven't been able to take a set-to be a solid playoff team. They won their play-in against a bad Ranger team last year before losing to Boston.

Florida have also been touted for their off-season moves in recent years but have flopped in the regular season. Haven't really seen any major roster changes to say that they're legit.

And yeah Chicago is missing some key pieces but are finding some nice success.

I'm watching the Knights vs Wild. Two good teams. And honestly, really really honestly, I don't feel like either of them is better than us. It doesn't feel like I'm watching two teams play better hockey than when I watch the leafs.

Defensive effort, offensive effort, the skating, the passing, the team work. It's all good. The Leafs, when healthy, will not be outclassed by anyone.

And by the way, Minnesota is completely outplaying the #1 pts% Knights right now.

Tatar tried a between the legs shot as their final attempt in the shootout and it wasn't even close to working. I'm sure that'll go over great with the fans.
