The Hawks are going through their second house cleaning after winning a Cup.

Look at the list of names who are already gone:

Brandon Saad, Brad Richards, Patrick Sharp, Kris Versteeg, Johnny Oduya and Kimmo Timonen retired. And to add to that, there is the uncertainty with Patrick Kane.

The price to pay to win three Cups in five years.

They needed to move somebody to get Kruger signed and I'm guessing he'll want in the 2.5 to 3M range. I think that will be done this weekend.

And they'll have to move more bodies by next spring if they want to keep seabrook...

Signing Kruger will put them at the CAP limit.

3 in 6 (2010, 2013, 2015) but yeah.

And to be honest if a 3rd cup in 5 years cost LA Milan Lucic, Alec Martinez, Dwight King, Trevor Lewis, Matt Greene, and Jordan Nolan...I'd pay that damn price

Yep, it's the price of doing business in the cap world for multiple Cups. I'd pay it every single time.

More like 3rd house clearing honestly

1st Cup
- Right after cup had to trade Ladd + Versteeg + Byfuglien + Eager + Fraser while walking away from Niemi arbitration. Also lost Burish + Madden to UFA
- Had to trade Brouwer + Kopecky + Campbell following summer

2nd Cup
- Right after cup had to trade Frolik + Bolland and lost Emery to UFA
- Had to trade Leddy following summer due to cap

Then you have this summer's bloodbath

I guess the Kings are more fortunate in not having to go through such a large turnover.

After 2012 they only lost Simon Gagne, but it was after 2013 where they lost Penner, Richardson and Scuderi. After their 2014 win they lost Mitchell and Bernier was traded.

The largest turnover is probably from this summer with Williams, Stoll, Regehr, Richards, Jones, Sekera and now possibly Voynov not returning.

Honestly. Some are additions by subtraction though and I loved what all of them brought to the Kings past success.

I think what's more important is that you guys still retained the important pieces. Kopitar, Carter, Doughty, Quick. The supporting cast you have for those players is still really good. Not too many teams can say they have a supporting cast as good as Lucic, Gaborik, Toffoli, Brown, Muzzin + your heavy forechecking bottom-6.

I see you guys getting underrated a lot on the main board and I have no idea why. With Chicago losing a ton of key pieces, I see Anaheim being the only team that can match you guys and last time I checked you guys beat them in the one series you had against eachother. As much as it sucks that you guys did lose those players they are what they are in the end, replaceable pieces.

I am really starting to like Toronto fans, the guy above me is being real in his assessment and I respect him for it and also Komarov47 I believe is his username is a great poster too. Much love !

I think we have great depth even in our system and I am not worried at all. I think we can contend for a long time

Thank you.

I reckon a lot of the disrespect the Kings get on the main board stems from wishful thinking. I mean, I know some of this is my homerism talking but come on, LA at #10 on HF's "power rankings" (polls) kinda says it all.

THN has them right there contending. THN has a bit more respectability than the trolling morons on the main board. No reason to participate in their discussion if they are going to be biased going in.

It's hard to believe a team as awful as the Dallas Stars could actually be overrated, but they are. They're defense is atrocious.
