The one thing I can see them do is put Stamkos on LTIR for some reason that we haven't heard of until now and then problem solved until the next offseason. Everyone will be mad, but that's just par for the course.

GM says Stamkos will be ready to go.

WIth Cirelli's new deal (3 yr./4.8M per) Bolts now at 93 M

interesting that the delayed touchup rule doesn't include the plane

this might make a bigger difference that people are letting on, not having to drag the skate means guys can really try and break the plane in full stride which should make for faster entries. i'm interested.

They needed to change that rule, way too many stoppages, slowing the game down. This should make for a better, faster game, with more odd man rushes.

Ottawa has Michael Haley, Josh Brown, Erik Gudbranson, Austin Watson, Cedric Paquette, Brady Tkachuk, and Braydon Coburn all on one team.

They gonna goon it up I hope.

Hoffman on a PTO to the blues. I gather the PTO is just to get him into camp before they sign him once steen goes on LTIR.

Hoffman and Karlsson are now in the same division and play each other 8 times. Should be interesting to watch.

If someone is willing to sign you, even if you're done, go for it. What every athlete says when they retire is that they'll miss being part of a team in those intense situations. That rush can't be duplicated, outside of very few situations.

NHL planning two outdoor games at Lake Tahoe for 2021 season

weekend of 2/20, 2 outdoor games in Tahoe, no fans

Colorado vs Vegas on 20th, Flyers vs Bruins the next day

Fans will not be in attendance, with the number of people limited to about 400 — basically the teams’ travelling parties and whoever is needed to work. It will give television different opportunities to broadcast the games, such as drone cameras.

Pierre-Luc Dubois's bridge deal with the Jackets, doens't change the fact he wants a trade, a change of scenery, according to LeBrun and Aaron Portzline (both in the Athletic)
He's a dynamic forward and being under a contract will make that potential move easier.

Why the hell are the Bruins and Flyers involve in this? What is their connection to Tahoe?

^^ I may think that NBC Sports has something to do with it and think they wanted more East coast (so-called bigger markets) teams to host a game.

Bruins are going to upgrade their d, and he hasn't been effective for a couple years now, esp in the playoffs. Their GM said they need make changes on the blueline, get faster.

Bruins window is about to slam shut.

Apparently the Caps were offering Chara a bigger role than the B’s were willing to commit to hence his exit.

Time to see if one of the younger kids can step into the lineup. With less than 3 million currently to play with we will see if they do anything on the back end.

They have been linked to guys like Hutton and Alzner but those potential moves just seem like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Chara has to realize when it's time to hang up the skates. He can't handle a bigger role, esp in a compressed season. The Bruins made the right move and will replace that hole. In addition to Hutton and Alzner, Vatenan is another player they are interested in.

I don't see their window slamming shut. It might need an adjustment, they do have some aging forwards, but historicalliy, have been pretty good as retooling. And despite the age of 2 of the forwards, their top line is one of the most dominent in the game.

The defensive core is fairly young. The most glaring need is center, the top 2 are over 34. They has to change. In order for them to keep the skilled younger/core forwards , like DeBrusk, Pasterniak and the like, they have to upgrade at center.

THey will do as they have in the past, ,make the moves necessary to stay a top team , a competitive one/
